My cat has never had any urinary issues, can I use it as long term prevention?

No....absolutely not! If your cat has a healthy pH, then using this urine acidifier can cause serious problems such as calcium or oxalate stones! (this product is for cats with urine that is too alkaline and have struvite crystals) This should only be used with guidance from a veterinarian.....and also you need to test your cat's urine to keep it in the appropriate range or you can cause serious health issues! We use pH strips - inexpensive. Once a week we use an empty litter box, add a small amount hydrophobic litter such as Kit4Kat.

How much would i need, per serving, for an 80lb dog?

Directions on the tube say 1 teaspoon for dogs, regardless of size. I don't know what your dog's specific issue is, but I've been trying "Cranberry D-Manmose" urinary supplement from "Doggy Naturals". So far so good! Just thought I'd mention it. Good luck with your baby!
