Q: Can it suck a golfball through a garden hose?

It depends upon the mass of the golf ball and the length and diameter of the hose. I personally conducted testing to determine whether it could in fact do so. The results were somewhat disappointing with a standard-sized garden hose (1" diameter and 50-foot length), and a PGA regulation golf ball. However, results were more favorable when using a Nerf brand golf ball, and a six-inch long stretch of 4-inch diameter PVC ventilation hose. Now, if you seriously want to know whether this device works as advertised, I would say definitely yes. I am using it 24x7 to cool a TiVo Bolt whose design makes it tend to run very hot, and it has reduced the operating temperature significantly.

Q: is there a way to turn the lights off? while fans still run.

You can easily turn off the lights on the arrows (I've got my laptop on the pad as I write this, with the arrows off.) You cannot turn off the lights on the fans without turning off the fans. The lights indicate which fans are on. I am trying to figure out if there is an easy way to disconnect the LEDs on the fans.

Q: why is this having 2 USB ports???

I found that the use of my second usb port on the fan came into use after the first one wore itself out after about 2 years of use... so it could be a back up too. I run a usb hub of 4 to my laptop and then i run the plug in from the fan to the hub and use the other 3 hubs for whatever; wireless mouse, charging, ect.

Q: I use my laptop on the couch, this doesn't look like it would sit on a lap well.I could strap it to my broken cooling pad? TY puppy for chewing cord.

I have an older version of this product and have been able to use it on my lap without any serious issues. Over time the frame can become uncomfortable on the thighs but it is not slip-slidey or anything and the adjustable height is nice for different comfort positions.
