is the output (110VAC) regulated at 60 cycles?

Yes, it outputs 60 Hz but DOES NOT output a sine wave. Small inverters of this type put out what is sometimes called "dirty" 60Hz power, which is perfectly fine for most (modern) digital electronics, incandescent lights, and SOME motors. It is not good for other kinds of motors some fluorescent lights, and many analog audio systems (you'll hear a hum). I'm afraid I don't know which motors are OK and which are not.

Used it in the car with two tablets and it will charge, but tablets cannot be used at the same time. Is this normal?

Your tablets draw power from the batteries. I would suggest you let the tablets charge a bit first before using them. When you charge things in your car, they tend to charge slower. Also make sure your tablets are plugged in to the correct USB slot as tablets typically need the higher amperage to appropriately charge. If this helped at all, vote me up!

Will this power inverter handle a curling iron or hair blow dryer?

Most curling irons use less than 200 watts so it will be fine with most curling irons. Most hair dryer use over 1,000 watts so it will not work with it. You will need to get a heavy duty 2,000 watt inverter to use it with a hair dryer and those need to be wired directly to the car's battery.

how loud is the fan? how long is the cord from the cigarette lighter to the product?

The cord is two ft long. The fan is audlble when the room is quiet. When tv or radio is it is not noticeable.
