Review: This thing is fantastic - I've put them in my greenhouse, where I have a huge seasonal problem (just now ramping up) with swarming wasps and their nests. The traps immediately started capturing most of the wasps (and some flies), leaving just a few easily avoided ones that will presumably eventually be caught. I used the recommended bait recipe, with no mods at all. Great stuff! I suspect I'll put more of these in other places on the property, though I don't have anywhere near the same wasp problem outside the greenhouse. It was so easy to catch them that I actually felt somewhat sorry for the wasps. Update: After a couple of weeks, the traps were full enough with wasps that I decide to pull them down and hang up some new ones I had purchased in the meantime. Of course, that's terrific! But not all is rosy. First, and most important, one of the newly-purchased traps leaks. The two halves of the trap are improperly sealed together, so there is a constant drip-drip-drip of bait fluid from one place on the bottom. No good! Out of 6 traps I've purchased overall, 5 are good, and 1 has a leak. So make sure you test your traps before filling them with the bait fluid, since otherwise you may find yourself with a messy puddle of sugary bait fluid. (I've not attempted to return the defective trap, since I've already used the companion trap it came with, so I have no idea whether having it replaced would be a smooth experience or not.) Speaking of bait fluid, the manufacturer's recipe for it is in terms of "shot glasses". It may be a shock, I know, but not everybody actually has shot glasses sitting around. I certainly did not. So here's the recipe written in terms of ounces, if you happen to have a kitchen scale that measures in ounces: 3 ounces water 1.5 ounces fruit juice (apple works well) 1.5 ounces vinegar (cider vinegar works well) 2 ounces sugar Another difficulty which had not occurred to me in advance is that the wasps can actually survive in the trap for quite a long time (several days), even after they have fallen into the fluid. They crawl around on the inner walls of the traps for a long time, then fall into the fluid and swim around in there. Therefore, when you eventually have to reopen the traps to dump out the bodies and replace the fluid, some wasps may still be alive! I don't yet have any advice to offer you as to how to dump a trap while live (and possibly angry) wasps remain in it.
Review: 20 feet from an active nest. ZERO yellowjackets trapped. - Can't really say there is anything about this that's redeemable. First, the incredibly cheap and inexact production--low-quality plastic that is soft and poorly molded, so the "lids" BARELY fit; there are no threads whatsoever, so lids that appear to be meant to screw on, do not. Second and most important, IT DOESN'T WORK. Baited as instructed (plus added some meat for wasps that are still hunting proteins), and caught ZERO yellowjackets in 4-days. I'll update if this changes but there's no reason to think it will. Stay away from this garbage and stick with the easy and proven DIY methods out there.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Not a bad little trap. Pros and cons.
*by B***N on July 19, 2020*

It’s ok. At first didn’t get anything, but played with the “ recipe “ I followed the instructions and didn’t catch much, so I added other ingredients. I used wheat beer, apple cider and sugar water. I think I get best results with hard cider, sugar, and jam smeared under the lid. When I first smeared the jam, I caught a ton of nasty earwigs. I am now getting wasps fairly regularly. This is in an area by my fountain which was attracting a ton of wasps, coming to drink out of my fountain. I couldn’t stand there and enjoy the area. The traps after a week has now really diminished them. So overall I’m pleased. I check the traps a lot and dump and clean every couple of days. There are some downsides however: Traps don’t leak BUT be careful when filling and transporting and hanging, as liquid will spill out the holes. On a windy day an overfilled trap will also spill out the holes. The trap is made of thin plastic, don’t drop on a hard surface, I bet it will break. CONS: The WORST part is the lid jams EASILY. Very frustrating to get lid off to clean. I attribute that to it being sticky from liquid and jelly. I have to spill liquid out of the holes and run under water with all the dead bugs inside. YUCK. PROS: They are very attractive traps. Love the the little pumpkin design. They are definitely catching wasps, which is the whole idea.
