The value of 30x42cm (11 3/4 by 16 1/2 inch) is the maximum size of the possible "inserted" item, photo, artwork or certificate from its back. At the back the thickness of the frame is about a half - just 1cm (1/2 of a inch). Where the thickness of the frame in the front is circa 2cm (3/4 of an inch) each side. Thus the max visible area from front is reduced to circa 28x40cm (11 by 15 3/4 of an inch). Hope that helps. **Q: will this fit an a3 print?** A: Yes **Q: Does this have a hook on the back or wire please?** A: It has a hook.
