Blue Buffalo Basics Turkey Small Breed Adult Dry Dog Food, 4 lb

This is the ONLY food my little dog can eat! Ive tried other brands thru out the years (he is now 11 years old) and every time I do, he gets itchy all over again. The only reason I even TRY to switch him to a different food is because I feel sorry for him and want him to have a different flavor OR because I want him to have a senior dog food now. But I am NOT trying to switch him for ANY reason ANYMORE. The poor thing is miserable unless he is on this food. He likes this food too. So I’m not changing him again. I only wish they made this for senior dogs in an even smaller kibble. The kibble size is small, don’t get me wrong, but as tiny dogs age, I feel like they need an even smaller kibble size because of their teeth. But I highly recommend this food if your dog is an itch dog.

I have a senior small breed dog with an extremely sensitive stomach and she does great with this kibble. She loves it and has been eating it for years now, it’s the only kibble I’ve found that’s never made her sick.

I was giving this food to my two 14 year old Shih Tzu and they did wonderful with it. My vet decided to put them on prescription renal support food which wreaked havoc on their stomachs. After my dogs had constant diarrhea and feeling I was going to lose my dogs because they were so sick, I put them back on this Blue Buffalo food. After 6 days back on the food, they are both doing soooo much better. The cost is reasonable and they seem to enjoy the taste and size of the kibble. And luckily, I can set up my orders for auto delivery.

After struggling for 7 years trying to get our Puggle to eat, we have finally hit the jackpot! She has always been fed Blue Buffalo Chicken recipes and had issues with frequent bouts of vomiting and eating grass. The rep was at a PetSmart during a recent visit and we had a conversation with her about the dogs tummy issues. She suggested the Small Breed Blue Basics Limited Ingredient to try. I mixed a little water to make the "gravy" as the rep suggested along with the 1 tablespoon canned pumpkin that we had always used. She has anal gland leakage issues and the pumpkin seemed to help with that. Sadie now begs to eat and I have to actually hold her off of her afternoon feeding! Finally after all this long time we were actually happy with what we were giving her! BUT... she is very gassy and the anal gland leakage has become worse which smells like a dead fish!! She also has an odor about her that is terrible and no matter how many baths she gets she has like a smelly "fog" and you can smell her from another room. Now I am reading that some people's pets are having issues with severe gastroenteritis and with bloody diarrhea from being fed Blue Buffalo!! Very concerned now as she seems to really like this food and I really do not want to change her again...

I was searching everywhere for small breed kibble which was chicken free. After an extensive search this particular product had the highest rating which is why I ordered this one. I did find that the kibble is slightly larger than the one I had previously fed my dog so I was a little concerned. Its been a few days and so far I have had no problems and my dog seems to like this particular food. I posted a photo to compare the size of the kibble with a 1c coin to give you an idea of the size. This is a little pricey for a 4lb bag but I would rather spend a little more knowing that she is being feed something more nutritious and safe. Overall I am pleased with my choice.

I buy quality dogfood for my two Westies. One of my girls has a sensitive stomach, prone to loose stools. This food straightened her out, so I love it. My skinny girl put on a bit of needed weight and the chunkier dog lost weight. I can’t explain that, but this food is great.

My poodle Daisy is 4 years old and has a sensitive tummy,,she’s a rescue dog from a puppy mill ! We’ve had her for 8 months now! She likes this dry food and she is not usually a fan of kibble!
