Thank you Amazon for making this wonderful pen available in the US at acceptably reaonable prices
The large nib (Medium) is both beautiful and a joy to write with right out of the box. The design is basically that of the 1911L, but overall larger and thicker, yet very comfortable for me. Is it worth the price? If you get it at the bottom of the price swings, I think so. The ringless ebonite version looks more special, but not special enough for me to pay an extra $300 over the price I paid for this resin version. But if Amazon one day carries the ebonite version at similarly discounted prices, i.e for an extra $100 or so over the resin version, it might be well worth it.

Exquisite writing experience.
I am blown away by this exquisite pen. Seller packaged the pen well and I received it in pristine new condition. I inked it up with Kobe Kanocho Midnight ink. The pen writes like a dream. I usually prefer Pilot pens to Sailor for long writing. The Sailor pencil-like feedback is fun for short writing sessions, but I tend to reach for my Pilots more often for their smoothness. The KOP writes smoother than a Sailor 1911 Profit 21 K medium nib. The KOP has a hair more feedback than a Pilot 743 medium nib. The KOP nib seems slightly more flexible than a Pilot 743 nib, so the writing experience is a bit more luxurious. Amazing pen, amazing nib, amazing price, and a great seller.

A Wonderful Fountain Pen
I have two KOP pens, one in the Professional Gear (flat ends), and this one in the 1911 version. Both pens write beautifully, very smooth when paired with Sailor ink. I haven't tried any other inks in it yet. The pen is the largest of the regular production Sailor pens; there may be some special pens that are even larger, but this pen is long enough to use unposted by probably 90% of users. The girth of the grip section is also thicker than most pens, so if you have small hands, this pen might be uncomfortable to hold for longer writing sessions. The nib is approximately #8 size, and beautifully polished. The cap features a spring-loaded inner cap that will seal the nib inside a smaller space than the whole inside of the cap, ensuring that the nib stays wet for longer, always ready to write as soon as you unscrew the cap.The pen has a cartridge/converter filling system, identical to its smaller siblings in the Pro Gear and 1911 family. Unlike internal filling systems (piston or vac-filler), there is less impact should your cartridge or converter fail because you can easily replace them without sending off your pen for expensive repairs. The cartridge has way more ink capacity than the converter, so it may be worth your time to buy a blunt tip ink syringe and refill the cartridge with ink of your choice. You can refill and reuse the cartridge several times before the mouth of the cartridge won't seal tightly against the nipple on the back of the feed. I would also recommend getting a bulb syringe for flushing the pen before changing ink brands or colors. If you use this pen on regular copier paper on a regular basis, I would recommend getting the <M> nib, because the pens write fairly wet, and cheap copier paper will allow some spreading of the ink, making the line appear wider than <M>.

King of writing experience. Fantastic Pen!
This pen lives up to the hype; it writes great and feels great in the hand. The king of pen is labeled as an over-sized pen but it is actually not that big. It fits great in the hand and the girth is good for long writing. In fact, I have a sailor pro gear large and it is quite small and compared to this pen and the smaller pen gives me hand cramps. So, I would say KOP is actually a decent regular pens while the peasant pro-gear and 1911 and other Sailor pens are just small pens. The nib is medium and I feel mine writes like a western medium. It is a bit hard to tell with the sailor ink cartridge that the pen came since the ink feathers a little bit but after trying on multiple papers and comparing with other medium pens, I can say it is in the medium ballpark. The nib is smooth and has very good ink flow.It takes one second to get a good feel of how well this nib writes. The nib is huge and the tip curves in quite a bit to give that very pointed tip feel and look. It is quite a different experience that any other nib and pen out there. As a syringe ink filler, I like cartridge converter pens. In fact, a lot of times I just keep re-using the cartridge and not even bother with the converter. The regular price of the king of pen is more than double what the import price is. I'm very happy to find the pen at a price I could talk myself into getting this pen.Overall, absolutely a great pen and I'm very happy writing with this pen.

great writing experience
The nib on the King of Pen is amazing! Thanks to the exchange rate, it was a great price to get a grail pen. Still expensive for me, definitely worth it ( > 400 including sales tax). It is a genuine product. Sailor pens can be a little on the stiff side but this one has perfect bounce.

Fantastic pen
I've been trying to get my hands on one of these pens for a few years. This pen is exceptional. The large nib writes beautifully. A little bit of the famous sailor feedback. The medium nib writes just a touch on the wet side which I prefer, and it's extremely reliable. It also fits my XL hands perfectly. If you're a fountain pen user that's on the fence about buying one due to price. Go for it. You won't regret it.
