Medline Optifoam Gentle dressing is higly comformable silicone dressing that provides gentle adhesion but can be lifted and reapplied. Super absorbent core absorbs exudate, coverts it into gel and locks it away.

Review: Great bandage! - I bought this as it fell in line with what the hospital sent my mother home. She received pressure sores from her time in the hospital recently. At 91 years of age, she is very thin, so from lying in bed so much of the day received pressure sores, these bandages help cushion the sores preventing them from increasing and helped with their healing. The adhesive hold very well and if the bandage has been on for about 2 days, does not get gummy which helped when removing it as her thin skin tears easily. As long as the contact with the skin is good, the bandage is waterproof which helps as these bandages are pricey. I would recommend them bandages to anyone that needs cushioning for the wound.

The adhesive margin is large so provides excellent holding and water resistance. The cushion is very thick in addition to being super absorbent so is provides cushioning protection as well. Not cheap but exactly the right and best product when you have a large weepy wound to care for.

**Q: Does this product have an adhesive border?**
A: Yes this has an adhesive border. These stick very well and please  remove it carefully. I truly like the Medline optifoam Gentle with silicone border much better. Item # MSC2044EP. HOPE THIS HELPS YOU.

**Q: Is the center sticky?**
A: The center is a little sticky but it does not adhere enough to make u uncomfortable or cause any pain. I've used this numerous times on my husband and never any problems removing from skin. I highly recommend this product

**Q: My husband does not have opened wounds but needs padding on his hips to prevent them  would this be the best product to use**
A: I suggest that you use DuoDerm CGF if  he has no open wounds.

**Q: This is medline "optifoam gentle sa", many others are "optifoam gentle ex".  please, what's the difference between the "sa" and the "ex" versions?**
A: I just looked at the package I have, and it has SA on it, which could mean Super Absorbent Core 
( for a sore still seeping)

I am at the age where my arms have occassional wounds, scrapes from wall corners, etc. These bandages are water and shower resistant and will not bleed thru. A great bandage.
