Great grafting knife
This is a great product..Well made, attractive and completely functional.A real walnut wood handle, and sharp as all skoobydoo…I rubbed some olive oil into the walnut handle and it’s gangbusters all the way.I recommend this to anyone.

Sharp out of the box
Impressed with the quality. Love the simple locking mechanism. Love the walnut handle. True grafting knives make a huge difference in my success. The way the blade edge is ground is the key. Hard to make a bad cut. I'm enjoying 95% success rate with my grafts. Expecting similar results with this knife.Just ordered their pruning knife after holding their grafting knife in my hands.

Needs sharpening
It doesn't come sharpened very well. Disposable box cutter blades are much sharper, but they don't have the single bevel. Tried using it as is, but it won't cut much. Will need to find time to sharpen it, so still grafting with my box blades still in the meantime.

Dull blade
While I like the wooden handle and that you can unfold and lock the blade in place, the blade is so dull which renders it useless for grafting. Maybe it is slightly sharper than a butterknife, that is after sharpening it. When looking at the blade itself, it is so dull it is even hard to see which side is supposed to be the sharpened edge side. I ended up buying a Felco grafting knife instead afterwards which is so much sharper and makes clean smooth cuts that is necessary for grafting.

Not very sharp
I've never done grafting before, but these were not sharp and hard to make the cuts I needed. Is this normal for a grafting knife??? However the graft took regardless, thankfully. Will try to sharpen it before I use it next time, seems odd to ship a dull knife though.

Plastic blade locking ring is no bueno
Old Bear Grafting knife might not be a bad grafting knife, but due to the plastic blade locking ring I returned this item. We live in a sandbox (FL) and this mechanism wouldn't last a month in my pockets. For 25 bucks, I expected more.

You can tell it's not Chinese.
I just got mine. Quality seems good for the price. Very sharp. Mechanism is very tight/stiff, a little oil and some use will be good for it. No complaints.
