Good Windsock Pole, but Reinforcing the Joints Made a Big Difference
We use this pole with a windsock on our rural Oklahoma property, where we have very strong winds and very few trees to provide protection. Our windsock stays outside 24/7, so the pole gets a pretty good workout. When we first assembled the pole, the sections did come apart, which seems to be an issue some other buyers have experienced. My husband is pretty handy, so after that happened he put silicone sealant inside the joints where the sections connect. That helped strengthen the connections considerably and has worked well for us. We have clay soil, and the ground stake has held up well. Ours is also positioned next to a fence, and my husband attached the pole to the fence for additional support. I think that's worth mentioning because our setup gives the pole more support than it would have standing completely on its own. We've had to replace our windsocks much more frequently than we've had to replace the pole. I believe we've only replaced the pole once after experiencing some particularly bad winds. For our conditions, this has been a good and useful pole once the joints were reinforced. If you're installing one in an area that regularly gets strong winds, I'd recommend reinforcing those connections during assembly rather than waiting for them to separate. Overall, we're happy with it and continue using this setup.

Great little 10' fiberglass pole for flying a wind sock or other such item while at the beach.
Great little 10' fiberglass pole for flying a wind sock or other such item while at the beach. Conveniently breaks down into 3 pieces, with very easy assembly. Include a ground stake with a thumb screw to secure the pole in place. Bring a rubber mallet, or similar, to hammer the stake into the ground/sand, insert the assembled pole, tighten the thumb screw...and you're good to go! Used it today with a 24" fish wibd sock and 17ish mph winds, and it functioned like a champ, perfectly stable.

Like it, but it fell apart today between the top horizontal arm and top vertical
These are holding ribbon streamer windsocks (also purchased on Amazon) over a food garden to keep birds from eliminating on my berries....neighbors with bird feeders have created an avian highway on each side of my property to the other. Some how one ribbon streamer and this post's horizontal arm were on the ground this morning but the other was still flying. I'm too short to check it out even on a ladder over my berry garden houses. Have to wait for taller family members to help. I'm guessing the ribbon streamer windsock was too heavy after rain and the horizontal arm popped out of the top pole...that's it...there seems to be no threading or balancing weight. I like these...was delighted it came with a thick plastic stake...went into the center of my garden easily. The joints are covered with chrome-colored caps...most metal ends rust within a year without protection.

This is a great garden/coastline pole and a very welcomed improvement on the one I used previously (In the Breeze Hang-It Pole, 4-Feet). The pole is longer than what I needed it for (to hang a wind sock in coastal conditions) so I limited it to an 80-inch (two sectioned) pole. If you read on youโll learn that I found a use for the extra section of pole, so nothing went to waste! There are three 38-inch long fiberglass tubes that are just under ยฝ-inch. The poles are joined by a sturdy 3.75-inch stainless steel coupler. 1.75-inchs of the coupler is positioned on to the pole, allowing the coupler to then extend 2-inches to receive a connecting pole. The top pole has a threaded rotating coupling - this coupler receives the overhanging arm that is about 8-inches long. That couple allows the arm to rotate freely and is the one I used to attach the windsock. The pole is provided with a plastic heavy duty ground stake that looks a lot like a tent stake. The stake has a molded-in catch for convenient removal, it is 11-3/4-inch long, the top of the stake has a diameter of 1-7/8-inch. The top also has a molded-in hole for mounting the pole; this hole is 6-inchs deep 1/2 โinches in diameter. The ground stake did not work for my application so I purchased four 1/4-inch metal cable clamps and four 1/4-Inch X 2-Inch Hex Lag Screws, at Ace Hardware. You can get all plastic cable clamps but I resisted this as I wanted something substantial and able to stand up to the heavy winds it will be subjected to. Regarding the assembly of the pole - although the pole is improved, it still required some modifications, including the use of two different adhesives, but nothing difficult once youโve figured out what you need to do: The arm that holds the wind sock screws into the top rotating couple. To assure it did not unscrew I applied a drop of โLoctite Super Glueโ to each threaded part. After assembly I let the parts set for 24 hours to assure a good bond. To keep the poles from coming apart I used โJ-B Clear Weldโ Quick-Setting Epoxy to bond the two 38-inch poles together. To mount the pole to the dock I first fit four1/4-inch metal cable clamps on the pole and squeezed them to a soft pinch fit. I then drilled a 31/64-inch pilot hole in the boat dock piling and inserted a lag screw through the top cable clamp. I screwed the lag screw almost tight to the piling; then used a level to ensure the pole was straight. With the pole in position I drilled and installed a lag screw for the bottom cable clamp, positioning the clamps about 10 inches apart. I then attached the other two clamps: one near the top clamp and one near the bottom clamp. I flipped both clamps to mount on the other side of the piling. At this point I fully tighten all screws. The top pole was then inserted and epoxied into the stainless steel coupler. This left me with one extra pole and the heavy duty ground stake. This 40-inch pole will be used as a flag pole for a 12-inch x 18-inch Valley Forge United States Garden Flag. The flag has a hem that will slide over the pole. I sew the top of the hem so that the flag wonโt slide. It works, and works well - I had this flag flying for years at a memorial 24-7-365. I love my flag and this old soldier loves his country. God bless America and God bless you. Jack

Very Light Duty, Not For Long Term
First off, I ordered 2 sets of this item, I unboxed both on install day & 1 is missing the 11" horizontal mount 4mm rod. 1 was installed complete and the other was installed without it. The windsock tangles to the top so it is a necessary item. Good thing is Amazon sent me a replacement. Second, Both units failed and lasted 6 days. The tip (as shown on my first picture) came off the sleeve where it was press-fitted and the windsock was blown away. Luckily I was able to retrieve it when it landed on our roof and the other one landed in or parking lot. Funny how both happened the same day, 6 days after it was installed. It is a simple easy to assemble & nice design but the tip (shown in 1st pic with the white plastic) insert should've been made longer, with additional dimple dents so it won't pull out of connection with additional dimple dents to keep it in place. I ordered some special glue to strengthen the connections. I shouldn't be doing these extra precautions to keep the pole together. This should be revisited by the manufacturer and re-engineer it to make it more robust. It maybe good for any 1-Beach day application with a lighter windsock or small flag but this item will not stand the test of time. My windsock is the lightest weight thin material with a 14mph wind rating and this was the suggested pole to get. Well in my experience, it is not adequate. Maybe if you apply a strong adhesive to keep the poles permanently in the sleeves upon assembly which my application requires it may last. I will do a follow up review in a couple of months to see how long it will really last with my modification.

Dual function Pole
Worked great, but after 10 months pole came apart out of sleeve. Need to tape where poles connect. I then decided to order another pole, make it into a flag pole also, I put the pole inside another PVC pole 2/3 way up existing pole, then tape the top, then put a brass bushing with hose clamps / plastic clamps, and formed a metal rod around the busing. So the rod swivels 360 degrees like the top. Used the old rod on top, cut it off, put in new top piece, then put in 90 degree brass brackets in hose clamps, use 20 gauge wire and staked to the ground - now have a Flag pole that swivels 360 also - works great. I like the design.

Maybe for different soil
We have really rocky old river bed land and this just will not stay upright as is. Hubby finally just dug a two foot hole and it now stays up. I also got my friend one of these in a different state at the same time and she is also having a hard time keeping it upright. She is in NM desert. Maybe will work for others in that regard. However the rest of it works as expected and we are not experiencing any tangled up wind socks

but on the other hand it's pretty light and easy to carry around in the car
I'm using this as a pole for a medium sized Advance windsock (size 1.30m x 0.25m รธ), putting it on a hang gliding / paragliding landing zone, and it works well for that. It's not a rigid pole โ it flexes in high wind, but on the other hand it's pretty light and easy to carry around in the car. The provided stake provides enough stability, even though I can only muster to put it into the ground 3/4th of the way usually. Getting it out is much easier, just shake it left-right repeatedly and it comes out nicely. The metallic connections between the sections like to slide a bit sometimes, but you can just glue them to the sections I guess. wasn't a problem for me, just need to make sure they're in the right spot before connecting them. EDIT a year later: Lost one of the shiny connectors, they're not very well secured to fiberglass sections. Also the ground stake broke when trying to get it out of the ground. I wish this was better made, but I guess can't complain for the price.

This pole is cheaply made, NOT "heavy duty". bends too much in a light wind. yet to test it in 30-50kmh. Don't think it worth what it cost
