MagJo Naturals Farm Direct Catnip | Freshest Available | Bulk Bag (Half Pound)

All I have to say is "Who wants catnip?" and all 3 of my cats come racing in! They don't react to any other brand of 'nip the way they do with Majgo! You can smell the difference as soon as you open the bag! Super fragrant and VERY fresh!!! I have to remind myself not to put it out more than 2-3x/wk so they don't become bored with it (kind of like human drug users getting tolerant of their drugs). I recommend cutting just a small piece of the top to access the contents (avoiding the seal) so it keeps the rest fresh longer. I was going to divide the bag into 5 portions & vac-seal 4 because there's a LOT of catnip in this bag but the package has such a very good closure built in it's doing a grand job of keeping the leaves nice & fresh. I like to take their odds n ends...feathers, cloth balls etc. & put them in the catnip bag when it seems the cats are bored with them. I leave them in the package for a few weeks to a month before bringing them out again. Another cost-effective trick was instead of buying catnip toys I took some very small stuffed animals left from when my granddaughter was a baby, took out the stuffing & replaced it with Magjo catnip! Whoo-ee! My cats loved this & they all got a lot of (much-needed) exercise batting these little toys around! Several (pretend) cat fights started when Cammie - {short for 'camouflage', as she's a12 lb tortoise that's part Cheshire...she can disappear by blending in to the hardwood floors or the office chair, lol} - streaked up & stole one of the new catnip toys another cat - Felix [my giant 23lb tuxedo - who isn't fat! His front legs are 7" long(!) making him the LeBron James of the feline world!]. Of course, this meant 'immediate pursuit & attack & get my toy back! ' Though some dispute this, I believe catnip is good for cats. it gives them not just a 'high' but it can mellow out stressed kitties, which all cats experience now & then. I know our county shelter forbids catnip in all forms, lord knows why. When I visit I always sneak in a little toy filled with Magjo for one of my favorites, an orange tabby named Garfield (what else?) who's been there for over a year. :{ He purrs & jumps all over his new toy, which I know will disappear as soon as I leave. But he gets a much needed respite from his cage, being allowed to romp in the display room & getting to chase his toy, toss it in the air, etc. He gets to decompress for an hour or so before having to return to his cage. When one of my cats passes & if he's still there, he's coming home with me! I've had cats all my life (and I won't say how many decades that is) and think part of why my cats are so healthy & live so long is because they get catnip to keep them de-stressed and to keep their digestion in order. Our third cat, Angel (7-1/2 lbs) is a super-senior at 18 yrs old(!) & we had a feral kitten who adopted us & started out as 'Mouchka' but was later renamed 'The Moose' - because that tiny kitten turned into a giant 24lb cat [not obese but more 3-mos cougar-like in size], who lived to 26(!!!) - who loved his catnip. (He also liked jumping off the ledge under our second floor window onto unsuspecting people below, like the mailman!) He'dve adored Magjo catnip!

Edit - We still have some of this left. I'm about to reorder this catnip as it really is the best ever and remained fresh. Original review - I ordered this as we have 6 cats and normal packages are empty so quickly. I really had no concept how much catnip I would be getting. It has been quite some time since I bought this and it seems like hardly any is gone from the bag. I love having such a large quantity of it because I can do things with it besides just give them little pinches of it. My one girl likes to roll around in it on the cat tower platform and I can put enough there so that she can roll in it and make herself look like a green plant kitty. Another one of my cats, one of my boys, likes to go from spot to spot of catnip and stick his paw or his nose in each one and then he'll settle on one of them. I have enough with this bag that he can do this without getting into the cat nip that I give to the other cats. I have enough that I can put it in their toys and put it in their cat beds and there's still so much of it left! Even though it is a big bag and takes a while to get through, there is a seal on the bag to preserve the freshness. The seal seams very secure and I am comfortable that it will remain fresh. They also seem to prefer this variety to other varieties. Maybe because it's more fresh or prepared in a better way? They can't really tell me why, but their enjoyment of it is obvious. Given that my cats seem to love this brand,. I get so much catnip, and it is such a good value I will very likely continue to purchase this.

I put it in a tea ball for my water. And it is a little finer than I would like thought it would be more leafy if that makes sense. But it does what it's supposed to.It helps calm my nerves

I have purchased many different offerings of Catnip over many years, at wildly varying prices. Our cats have been remarkably indifferent to most of them. Several months ago I made my 1st purchase of Magjo Natural Catnip. Our cats think they have died and gone to heaven! They go crazy when they see me approaching with the container we keep it in! They respond exactly as we hoped they would. Rolling in it, rubbing into it, purring loudly, acting so happy! I am overjoyed that we have finally found Catnip that they truly enjoy. It’s effective, obviously enjoyable, safe, and reasonably priced!

I actually bought one of those cardboard-like cat scratch mat that came with a little envelope of powered cat nip. She loved the catnip but I didn't like the powder part since it goes in the air and makes me (and her) sneeze. I looked for an economical but good cat nip that wasn't powered and decided to try MagJo Naturals Farm Direct Catnip. Inside the box was what looks like a brown paper bag but when you open it, it is foiled lined on the inside and has the reusable zip-lock closure across the top. There was a rather wide white label across the top, front to back, to keep the ziplocked bag from opening up, but I took it off and threw it away. I brought the bag into the room and right away her nose starts sniffing the air. Apparently, the smell appeals to her. I do not find the smell appealing but then again, it isn't repulsive either. To me it smells like when one of those boxes full of tea bags are first opened and you get that whiff of dried tea. The pieces of catnip are not big but aren't powder either. There are a few short steams in it but they are thin and seem to be soft and I also see a lot of seeds. I have no issue with the catnip for the price and to me it is definitely worth it. I sprinkled some on her scratch pad and she made her way to it and right away started rubbing on it. As you can see from the photos she was in heaven and thinks she hit the Kitty Catnip Jackpot with 1 pound of purring bliss.

Es staubt ganz schön wenn man die Tüte aufmacht und es hat mich etwas überrascht, dass auf der Tüte eine Anleitung zum Tee kochen aufgedruckt ist. Als Tee wollte ich das nicht trinken. Ich habe es in kleine Stoffbeutel gefüllt und den Katzen zum Spielen gegeben. Sie haben kurz damit gespielt, nach 2 Minuten war das Kissen uninteressant und lag im Eck. Das war nicht so der große Bringer. Für die Wirkung zu teuer, würde ich nicht wieder kaufen, schade ums Geld.

Amazing product. Takes awhile to arrive - like more than a month I think - but worth it if you plan ahead.
