30A Portable Surge Guard w/Cover

Great quality surge protector. Worth the money!

I use this 30amp surge guard with my Lance 855S pickup camper. It continues perform flawlessly. Peace of mind I will not fry my camper wiring and appliances.

Our first time out with the new camper/surge protector combination and we had two thunderstorms roll through that also took out the park power - really glad we had a good quality surge protector that did it's job. I'd give it five stars but the cover won't close over the 30A to our camper as it is oversized and has a pull-out handle, but that's not a deal breaker. Also nice to have the lock bar - used a bike lock cable to go around the electric pedestal as it's out there in front of everyone and I've heard these are a target for thieves in parks. I think this unit is a great value - not the fanciest but not "cheap" either.

I bought this unit in July of 2020 but noticed recently (Dec-2022) that it showed an open ground. I tried it in several outlets at the house and then at a couple different RV parks with nothing plugged into it. I reached out to support and they suspected a moisture problem and set up an RGA to return it for replacement. He asked if I could open it, to let him know what I find. It did require a special security bit which I had and when I removed one of the lower screws, water came streaming out. It is sealed (even after removing screws, I couldn't open) and they are replacing it without any problems. I was vey thrilled to know that they take care of their product like that. Highly recommend Southwire products.

I have had the opportunity one to use this several times and I find that it works good or seems to. We haven’t had any problems with it and I found that a luggage lock has worked well for what I’ve run into regarding locking or securing it to the electrical panel at 2 campgrounds. It isn’t a fancy as some that I’ve seen but i like that it tells you if what your plugging into is wire correctly by the indicator lights. Why spend more if you don’t need too?

Self explanatory. Easy to use. Only thing is the outlet cover plastic seems abit cheap.

Nice to have this added layer of protection for my Airstream camper & works well. Would buy again.

Had to cut a little bit of the rubber that seals around the power cable to allow the cover to close around the cable. Easy to install and works as expected.
