I am very picky about my hair and go to a hairstylist every six weeks for highlights, touchup and styling. I have dark blonde hair with light blonde highlights, and a darker root base which I covered with a medium golden gloss, but it made my hair a little too dark so I tried this and for two weeks I washed my hair twice a week it raised the level of the darkness and got rid of the gloss, but not in a bright fake way in a very subtle golden shimmering lighter blonde way it was perfect! I use the oil in my hair to keep it moisturized when I tall dry and this work very well. It did not dry my hair out my hair was still soft and very shiny. I also use the matching conditioner and it worked very well. Also, I am picky about my hair care products and only use high-end shampoos and conditioners, but I was very surprised at the gentleness and effectiveness of the claims for this shampoo and conditioner, I do recommend it if you wanna go one level lighter than what you have or to brighten your highlights.

I love this shampoo. Though even if you have very naturally blond hair, you won’t see a huge change but it does really keep your hair looking somewhat lighter & brighter. It smells great. Lathers nicely. And in the winter when you can’t get much sun on your hair it keeps your hair lighter & brighter. I’ve bought for years & will keep buying. Plus it leaves my hair shiny & easy to manage.

Smells great, beautiful lather - saw subtle lightening right away. Full disclosure, I am dark blonde with highlights so I alternate with the John Frieda highlight activating shampoo and conditioner.

The shampoo is great, it leaves the hair shiny and soft, but the delivery wasn't so good. My shampoo arrived open with about two fingers' worth of shampoo spilled. This is something so simple to fix when packaging the product!

I wish I had taken a before picture so I could include pics. My daughter is 14 and was super blonde when she was younger, but like with most, her hair has darkened. It's still beautiful, but she wanted to try this to lighten it up a little. I didn't expect much honestly, but after only 3 washes, I can't believe the difference!!! She loves it, and it can be hard to get a 14 year old to love anything so... Success!! It doesn't dry her hair out, but she is a little on the oily side to begin with. It just makes her hair look, feel, and smell nice and clean, shiny, and blonde!!

I have used this product for over 40 years. You want your a touch lighter after coloring it, this works great.

This works so good! It takes about a week of washing it every day or every other day before you notice it lightening. It also helps to lift old dye off my ends of my hair. The best part is it’s not damaging but it can be a little drying so use a good conditioner when using.

Good smell, good texture. Didn’t make me any blonder though

I don't bother spending money on expensive foils and highlights. This is literally my go to to lighten by blonde hair. I also rotate so use a regular shampoo 2 days, then this lightening shampoo 1 day, then a purple shampoo like once or twice per week etc. My hair has lightened and brightened so much and it looks 100% natural.
