I spray it heavy on my tires and hold a wipey rag downwind to prevent as much "overspray" as possible from getting on my cars paint. I then wipe the tires down with the rag until they are an even finish, followed up by the required wiping of the greasy stuff off my rims. After about 8 minutes of spraying wiping and rubbing, I have a nice matte finish without the "wet look", and the finish stays like that for several months and car washes. Pictures shown are from one month after application a few days after it went through a car wash as well. I never had any issues with the application attracting dirt, but again I wipe mine off to a matte finish. I also do not rub my tires down or clean/prep before applying, what you see is how the application looks on 4 year old tires that are only washed off by a car wash. I have also not had to deal with any of the greasy stuff forming brake dust sealing patches on my wheels, but again I make sure to wipe it off the wheels. If you spray over brake dust with this stuff and don't wipe it clean, you may end up with baked in brake dust in the crevices. A shiny black tire is what you will get. **Q: How does this compare to Meguiar's G15524 Endurance Tire Dressing (the purple spray bottle)?** A: I've tried both and I would never use anything but the G12024 ( Hot Shine ) again. The shine lasts for weeks, and I don't have to be careful when spraying it, because even though some may get on my rims it doesn't stain them. In comparison, the G15524 (Endurance) left a visible "film" on my rims that needed to be cleaned off. I hope this helps :) **Q: Could this be applied by spraying into a cloth/sponge and wiping on? I prefer wiping vs spraying.** A: It works fine spraying on a cloth, just get it wet enough get a good coating on the tire. You can tell by how it looks if it's enough. Since you have to get the rag pretty saturated I suggest using rubber gloves to keep the chemicals off your hands. **Q: My tires are dirty right now and i'm worried this will dip down onto the rims. should i rinse it with high pressure water first? do i need a brush?** A: When I do this, I wash my car then when I'm done my rims still aren't as clean as I would like them to be (they're black) and I walk around all 4 tires and use this spray and if some gets on my rims it doesn't hurt at all.
