## Description

The Flambeau Outdoors 40" Rifle Hard Case provides a convenient and secure way to store your gun. The case has an interior convoluted foam lining that keeps the weapon inside protected. The case is equipped with storage accessories inside to keep all of your gear organized. Includes 10" x 13" storage dividers infused with anti-corrosion Zerust technology and Velcro straps for securing gun and accessories inside. Made with Zerust dividers. Zerust products are made with a proprietary chemical formulation that is invisible, odorless, non-toxic, non-reactive, non-flammable and non-allergenic. This chemical formulation releases a vapor that diffuses throughout an enclosure made with Zerust VCI materials and settles on exposed metal surfaces to form a microscopic corrosion inhibiting layer.

Review: Absolutely awesome case for my Daniel Defense AR with scope but directions lack. So I wrote my own. - The best case I've owned. I did done a ton of research and decided to go with this one due to the ratings it received. I was not disappointed. It has a built in anti-corrosion system which I didn't know. Pros: Fits my Daniel Defense V5 with scope and bi-pod attached no problem with room to spare. 4 corner compartments that can hold a 30 round clip, bi-pod, scope, etc when detached. Very sturdy construction with optional straps that can be anchored to the case. Cons: For such an awesome case the directions leaflet suck. Brevity is the sole of wit but the directions lack in any real functional explanation and makes it seems like a chore to set it up; which it's not. Can pinch fingers when snapping the latches while holding the carrier handle. Not really a con due to the latches and seal being hard and tight. So more like a warning. Only 4 straps provided. I feel 6 would be optimal. Here's an explanation on how to set it up and it's features: It comes with 4 dividers. They are plastic but these are made with the anti-corrosion material. Just having them in the case prevents corrosion, they just conveniently made them dividers as well. @ 36 seconds you can see how that material prevents corrosion: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=vJscjAuaKLc There are 2 sections of egg shell foam, one for the top lid and one for the bottom. (The lid to me is the half of the case that comes down, when the latches are facing me, and latches go down to snap. Just my preference) Flip each egg foam over and gently stretch them at the corners and you will see every corner has a line of lacerations that you can run a knife through to separate a corner. DO NOT CUT YET. Take both egg foams out and position your gun in the case and now close your case thinking about those 4 corners. My setup, with my case closed, the top left and top right provided enough room where my gun fit perfectly. As per the brief instructions they provided a corner section divider (on the lid) should match the corner section of the (bottom lid) when closed. Simple put, when the case is closed the plastic dividers from one side of the case should kiss the dividers to the other side. Ok you figured out what corners best fit your gun. Now time to cut. I started with the lid foam, top left right setup. I removed the foam, flipped it over and spread out the corner the lacerations with my fingers. I took a sharp knife and drew it between between my fingers while spreading the lacerations to cut the corners out. (Remember only TWO corners need to be cut out on each piece of foam.) Bottom lid foam I repeated the same to match the top. (I re-inserted the foams a couple times to make sure I was cutting the right corners to "kiss" the corresponding corners of the bottom lid.) Now you can refer to the inserted directions how to anchor the plastic sections and install the straps. One thing I noticed is the straps that go through those sections you just cut out, when screwed down, have slack and push the foam up. I simply cut them in two and removed the excess that was pushing the foam up. Hope this helps. Awesome case for the money and I would like to have all my guns in one of these.
Review: Most economical hard case for ARs - I recently purchased an AR and needed a case for it to go to the range and back. I like the idea of a hard case and having "compartments" to hold magazines, optics, maybe ammo, and what not. I wasn't concerned so much about strapping the gun in to the case since I would be the one handling it, or maybe I just trust the foam isolates any movement more than I should. Nevertheless, I installed the velcro straps for the gun, and put the remaining two straps in one of the compartments to hold my 2x red dot. I cannot complain for the price as this is much cheaper than most other options out there, but here are the cons I came up with. 1) only 4 straps are included. So you essentially get 2 for the firearm, and 1 for two compartments, or like I did 2 for one compartment. Not a huge deal and will great for what I need, but having the option to use more straps in other compartments would have been nice. 2) I was lucky enough to keep track of the screws when installing the compartment dividers and straps. You only get just what you need to install them, so don't lose one of those little screws. 3) I read a review before purchasing about only have 1 set of places to screw the straps for the firearm. Like I mentioned above, I didn't care a lot about this so it didn't stop me from purchasing. I will end up using the straps in that default location because it works for my AR - though it might not work for everyone. Having multiple locations would be ideal to make this a true universal case 4) The plastic case will crack if you drop a cinder block falling from a foot above it and don't have any foam inside. Have I proved this? Of course not. The short here is that the plastic casing isn't made like a pelican box. However for my needs and with only me or someone I know handling it, and with the dense foam inside, I am not worried about it. I also didn't spend pelican money on this, so you should expect it won't be the same material. After all of these cons, the pros still easily outweigh them for my use. Is it right for you? What are your expectations? Again, for my purpose this is exactly what I was looking for and I expect it to last the life of the firearm. I will tell you that you won't find one like it in this price range. So if this is your budget, and you aren't expecting to put it thru baggage at an airport, just buy it already.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Fits an AR15 nicely. Not the sturdiest case but it works fine. Looks good
*by M***R on April 1, 2019*

I bought a cheap $20 case from the local sporting goods store for my AR15. It seemed to work until I put optics on it. This case is wide enough to fit an AR15 with a 16" barrel that has relatively large optics on top. That is without collapsing the stock. If you collapse the stock you could easily fit an AR with an 18" barrel or maybe even a 20" barrel. (I don't have one to test this with) This case is also a little higher quality than the $20 case I bought originally. The case comes with plastic pieces you can use to section off the inside of the case for magazines or something. I chose not to do this. I stick mags wherever I feel like putting them and that works fine for me. There are no cutouts in the foam. It holds the rifle in place because it presses the 2 sides together. (which keeps the rifle in place quite well) The plastic is thick enough for the case to be useful but you have to line it up when you close it. The plastic flexes and the latches may not line up unless you are careful. It is not a big deal but every time you close it you are reminded that you didn't buy that $200 fancy waterproof case with wheels. For the price I paid, I am very happy. It is much nicer than my original rifle case and it is the perfect shape and size for an AR. (In fact, based on the name 6500AR I think it was designed to be an AR case) It is not hard to close the case, you just have to force the latches to line up. You can put 4 locks on this case if you like and there are 4 plastic latches on the front. This will last me a while and if I need another I will probably upgrade to the super fancy waterproof case with cutout foam and wheels. That will cost 5-6 times what this case set me back though. For the price, it does a nice job.
