It worked brilliantly
It completely removed ground loop noise from an external USB audio interface. It uses an ADUM3160 chip which provides full optical isolation but note that it does this only at USB1 speeds (12Mbps). This is more than adequate for 2 channel audio and probably would be ok with 4 channels at 44.1KHz 24 bit. If you needed faster sampling rates, you would need to consider the bandwidth limitations. Also the device has to recreate the 5V power on the output side, fully isolated. It does a good job of this but the maximum current draw is 400mA. If your usb device draws close to the 500mA usb limit or has a high inrush current, you might have an issue. Otherwise I measured an output voltage of 4.9V at 400mA which is well within tolerance.

No use for intended purpose
Wanted this to stop noise when recording a synth that was also connected by USB for power. Unfortunately the synth does not switch on when this device is in line.

Not a 100% improvement BUT it’s made a difference.
I had huge computer noise interference on my microphone audio interface. This has cleared up the audible interference on my recordings - they have gone completely. Noise is still apparent through my headphones but I can live with that.

Wow totally saved me!
Bought this after reading mixed reviews for a customer's home studio I had installed.I built the PC (Hackintosh) from scratch as I always do. It was a lower budget machine with a cheap PSU and one of the lower end Behringher UMX interfaces. We had this horrible interference through the monitors. I changed the PSU to a better one, put a high quality isolation multi-socket for the power, changed all cables etc and nothing was working.Bought this to try as a last resort after reading mixed reviews, no idea if it would work or not. Stuck it in the USB port, plugged the interface in and voila! No more interference. Dead silence with a nice clear playback sound.

Not all that good with the gear I have
Not very good

Didn't work
Granted, it does remove the hum coming through my audio interface, but also disables all sound from my interface... Refunding.

Works for me
Had a problem of high frequency noise on Yamaha MODX 8 synth when connected via USB to laptop running on mains power. Running laptop on battery, problem stopped - so obviously 'earth' loop issue, despite neither laptop or MODX actually having an earth conductor. This isolator worked perfectly to stop the noise, and Cubase still functions with the synth.

Works as expected
I bought this to isolate the USB connection on an amateur radio transceiver. It carries low speed data (38,400 bps) and audio. While I don’t have any ground loop issues, or any noise associated with possible ground loops, it is cheap insurance against damaging the USB connection on expensive equipment by possible differences in ground Voltage. It hasn’t created any noise in the radio by its internal dc to dc converter.
