Excellent dip stand at a great price
I bought this for my 16 year old son, who is a big kid. He is currently 6' and about 160 lbs. He has been wanting a dip bar for some time, and this one fits the bill perfectly. The price is very reasonable compared to other models I looked at, and it is a strong and sturdy piece of equipment. It is easy to assemble. When the package came I was not home. My son received it, opened it and assembled it himself with the help of some tools from my tool box. After reviewing his work, I was satisfied that he did a fine job of putting it together. As I said he's 16 (smart of course), but the point being, if a 16 year old has no problem with putting it together unsupervised, I think most people can handle the assembly. I am very pleased with this product. It is very stable, the handles are thick, which distributes weight bearing over a broader surface of the hand. It also has a 22 inch width from mid handle to mid handle, which is ideal for dips. It is also light enough to move around. You can move it indoors or out with little effort. He also uses to perform horizontal rowing movements, so this single piece of equipment can provide a very effective upper body workout. I highly recommend this product.

Good value and durability for the price
I was looking for a product to do Starting Body Weight exercises with and this has been an excellent choice. It is easy to put together and extremely solid. I am 6'5" and 205 lbs so somewhat leaner and tall and I find the height to be just fine and the width to be adequate (I don't think it seems too wide). I use this for dip exercises, leg lifts, and hanging rows. The foam grips are decent and feel durable. All in all it is a nice value for the price and I am happy with the purchase. The only caveats as mentioned elsewhere are that the stabilizing blocks had to be screwed on from the bottom up making aligning them a bit more difficult (not sure if this is intentional but seemed odd) and that there is a slight unevenness to how the bars sit on the floor at rest (but no wobbling and the unit sits flush with the floor when you start an exercise with no shifting at all).

Sturdy stand, but grips are a litte wide
This is a pretty solid bar. Putting it together was pretty easy. There are four hollow bars that are held in place by four bolts. Once assembled it does seem to be a pretty sturdy bar, however the holes drilled into the bars for the bolts didn't all line up perfectly and weren't all cleanly cut. This meant that some of the bolts slid right into place while some of them had to be forced through the pre-drilled holes. The dip stand also comes with four blocks that can be placed on the bottom bars for stability. I have not used those support blocks. The stand seems to be sturdy and balanced enough just resting on the floor itself. In terms of functionality, the bar is pretty good. It doesn't wobble any. The pads where your hands hold your weight up are very comfortable and appear durable (although I haven't had the stand long enough to attest to this). Once assembled, my only complaint is the same as many others that I've seen: the stand would be better if the bars you dip between were closer together. They are pretty wide. I like to keep my hands pretty close to my sides with my elbows tucked when I dip, but I can't do so with the bar. I am a pretty average build (5'10", 160 lbs), so I can see how this would be less than ideal to many people. It doesn't mean that I can't do effective dips or maintain safe form. I just can't perform dips with ideal form as my hands are just too far from my sides. I debated giving the stand 3 stars instead of 4, but felt that would be inaccurate. It is a very sturdy bar, especially for the price. It could just use some minor tweaking to get the holes to line up perfectly and to bring the bars that support your weight a little closer together. It would be nice if the bar could fold up for storage when not in use, but I couldn't deduct any stars over this as I am unaware of any adequate dip stand that does this. ***UPDADE: I've had the bar for a full year now and have used it pretty regularly. It has not work out one bit, so I can strongly attest to its durability. I still have never used the blocks they provide for bases, and I even took the screws out several months ago and it is still stable. I took them out so I can remove one of the upper bars and fold the rest of the sand on itself so I can store it against a wall in our home.

Scam! Fraud!
In this product description, the following points are made: -3000 pounds rated dip station -Easy assembly and functionality -Stabilizing pads for any surface -Soft foam grips -Lifetime Warranty Notice how NOWHERE in these points, until you open the package, does it tell you that you need a specific screwdriver that can reach inside a hole/fissure in which human fingers cannot reach in order to tighten screws that would fix the part known as a "stabilizer" to the apparatus. Also notice how NOWHERE in these points, until you open the package, does it tell you that you need a specific wrench in order to tighten Also notice how NOWHERE in these points, until you assemble the product as well as you can, are you warned that the two top bars (the ones you would grab if you used it) fail to actually fall into the rusty, damaged interior of the bottom bars/machine base), rending the dip bar both asymmetrical and potentially very, very unstable. Disgusting! Someone could sustain a traumatic injury using the product the way it comes, and then, this vile company effectively puts the poor consumer through some forced labor/bullying by making them return the faulty product with missing assembly tools if they are dissatisfied with the fact they were pranked instead of being sent a safe, functioning product.

Versatile, Durable, and Excellent
I've been using this for a couple weeks now. At first it didn't seem like the screw holes were aligned to assemble the station. But it eventually went through just fine with someone else applying a little bit of pressure to twist the bar in place for the screw holes to align while I put in the screws. Put the screws one in at a time, then apply the pressure to the bars for the remaining screws if necessary. A lot of pressure isn't necessary. One of the screw caps needed a wrench to tighten all the way. I might have bent the thread out of place before I learned to twist the bars instead of shove the screws. The packaging was very well done. I bought it to do dips when I found out dips are a great exercise to workout the lower chest since push ups only workout the upper chest. Dips are also a great way to workout all of the tricep muscles, so a dip station like this is a must have. I checked with customer service to see if it's really rated for 3,000 pounds instead of 300 pounds, and the representative said yes, it is 3,000 pounds. The other dip stations I looked at only rated up to about 250 pounds. So this dip station is about 10 times more durable than some others available for about the same price. The other really great thing about this dip station is that I can now do inverted rows with it. Inverted rows work out all the same muscles as pull ups/chin ups. I've read a couple of books that say that possible injury can result from doing an exercise that one cannot do at least eight reps with. I've had a pull up/chin up bar I was using that I couldn't do at least eight reps with, so inverted rows are perfect with this dip station. If someone can't do at least eight reps on a pull up/chin up bar, then this dip station is also a must have for inverted rows as well as dips. If someone can't do at least eight reps of dips, then they just have to keep their feet on the ground. Bending my knees is enough to do dips without touching the ground. Dips and inverted rows are a complete arm exercise with both pushing with dips) and pulling with inverted rows covered. I really like this dip station in particular because it is the only one that is actually parallel that I could find. Most, if not all, of the others are slightly trapezoidal. The price for this dip station was good too. The only items similar to this that are substantially cheaper are parallettes, and those aren't tall enough. With parallettes, people have to hold their entire legs out in front of them to do dips, and it seems harder to imagine an option to assist with their feet on the ground if they wanted to with parallettes because, either way, people would have to be very flexible with their legs. With dip stations, people only have to bend their knees. This dip station should be tall enough for anyone who just bends their knees. Since it's rated for 3,000 pounds, there's room for me to grow by eventually doing weighted dips and weighted inverted rows on this dip station too.

Best dip station ever.
Besides this black mountain dip staition, I have two more "THERACK® Workout Station 30 lb Pro Version" , "ultimate body press dip station" Compare to those two, this is the best dip station i've ever had, quality and price wise. I was worried after reading all bad reviews but this dip station is very good. I do dips, hand standing push ups, inverted row etc on it. Pros Evrery parts and frames are aligned Easy to assemble No scratch and any marks on product Two handles are totally parallel.(Handles of Ultimate body press dip station are angled differently to each other and it's super annoying) Staisfying Height and width(Its not that wide as others said. Im 5'9'' and long enough for me) Very sturdy and doesn't wobble( Im 165lb and doing dips with 80lb weighted vest on) Cheaper than any others Cons Late Delivery(It took 13 days though Im prime memeber)

Great product, but terrible craftsmanship
This ended up being a good overall product, but I was disappointed in the craftsmanship. Let's start with the positive. It is a very strong and sturdy dip station. It is rated for 3,000lbs which is more than I will probably ever be able to put on it in my entire life! It sits on the floor in a carpeted area of the house and does not wobble at all during exercise. I live in an apartment, so I have to carefully select the equipment that is most effective to use in terms of functionality, cost and space. I do have an over the door frame pull up bar and after purchasing this I did notice some door frame pull up bars that included a dip add on feature, but ultimately I decided that I was still satisfied with going this route simply because of the weight rating. A door frame can only hold so much weight but this piece of equipment is designed for added weight. I knew doing bench dips would only allow me to add so much weight on top of my legs eventually. The bad thing about this dip station is the cheap construction. As some other reviewers have mentioned, the feet that stabilize the station are absolutely worthless. They are made of cheap plastic and do not fit flush onto the legs of the station. While screwing in one of the base stabilizer feet, I discovered that one had a screw hole that was already damaged and was impossible to screw on properly. Fortunately, Amazon's excellent customer service was able to grant a partial refund for me and I opted to keep the equipment due to the hassle of returning such a large piece of equipment. I simply lived with the 3 out of 4 screws in one foot stabilizer working and figured the fourth wouldn't impact the performance much which so far it has not. Overall, I think it is a great product, but needs some better engineering for the design of the stabilizer feet.

Very good and sturdy stand alone dip station.
Very good dip stand for the price and sturdy construction. Not too sure about the 3,000 lbs rating but it is irrelevant since practically speaking few people will ever exceed 500 lbs. combined user and dip belt weight. It will hold that without breaking a sweat. I like the fact that it is free standing as opposed to one that attaches to a power rack. I had one of those and they tend to wobble unless you anchor your power rack to the floor. The foam grips are already splitting but I'm not too worried about that. I didn't bother installing the base feet as the unit is stable as is. Assembly takes about 5 minutes if you skip the base feet. Overall a good buy and I am pleased.

Good product and price, but delivery - no bueno.
It's pretty solid after you tighten it an insane amount. Haha. It's a tiny bit warped, but it's not a big deal. Works perfect for what I was hoping to use it for. The only problem is that it was shipped in a box that the corners got destroyed and the plastic bag with all the screws was open and I had to collect them all in the grooves of the box, but luckily all of the pieces were accounted for (with extras). They could improve on that. That's my only recommendation for the manufacturer.
