Great read
Clancy is hard to beat if you like well written intrigue. Well written and well ended. I’ve enjoyed all the Clancy novels I’ve read.

A good book by the ghost writer
Finally a book by a Tom Clancy ghost writer that reads like a Clancy novel. Since the master passed I've read a number of the alternative writers trying to fill his shoes. This fellow has written a novel that mimics the great author with his prose and tempo. He wrapped the book up a little quickly. I wish he had carried out the book a little further to wrap things up.

Standing Tall
Ryan stood his ground as the leader of the free world in spite of the backstabbing from Congress. Good hunting by the Campus and Navy. Good read!

threat in the ai age
Maxims in prefatory notes express the nature and the contents of “Code Of Honor.” Marc Cameron picks up a new type of threat in the AI age in this story. The US is developing a long-range anti-ship missile (LRASM) technology, which has an ability to home in on an enemy’s targeting radar stealthily, with Dexter & Reed. On the other hand, gaming software engineers happen to create deep learning AI, Calliope, which helps non-player character to make more lifelike decision. Software engineers dreamed a dream of making a fortune at a stroke. In China, struggling for supremacy continued more than before. Communist party members in all levels have a desire to get close attention from the president of China. A PRC military general had his eye on stealing a cutting-edge technology from America by perverting Calliope. The story began when a honey-trapped gaming software engineer fled and confessed what he had done so far to father Pat West in Indonesia. He was, although it was quite improbable, a friend of the president Ryan. He was indicted on charges of drug trafficking by the Indonesian Police. At the opposite side of the globe, admiral Peter Li, who was working on Dexter & Reed as a post-Navy job, were assaulted at his home. Chinese spies, fearing detection of their installing Calliope into the Dexter & Reed’s central terminal, sent Chinese assassins to Li’s home. In this episode, Cameron introduces another software, Cassandra, which is stored in the small CPU. It was intentionally mis-delivered to James, Li’s son, by Chinese spies. After connecting to Li’s home security system, it migrated into James’ cell phone. Attacked Li made contact with John Clark. Li was the person who picked up Clark in hostile waters and gave him a ride on his ship. The Campus team members incidentally found an existence of an anonymous computer software. They were training in New York and witnessed the FBI agent being stabbed. In pursuing criminals, they found a body of another gaming software engineer. The phone number found in his house lead them to Indonesia. Cameron puts on Callahan and an episode of a failed attempt by Chinese foreign minister to usurp control of China into the story, which refreshes our memory of his debut work for Ryan series, “Power And Empire.” Counteroffensives by the Ryan administration and the Campus begin. Ryan’s foreign politics to save his friend, the Campus adventure to secure the software, the experiment process in the US military, and Chinese ambitious strategy, called “Fireship,” to steal cutting-edged techniques, four fragments moves forward intertwining with each other. The story is suspenseful as always. The book contains customary run & chase and counterattack scenes. Chavez and Adara made frantic efforts to escape from pursuers after they captured a thumbs drive. Chavez plays a Jack Jr.’s role in the other episodes here. Clark brings down Chinese assassins coolly. A man does what he must is the basis of all human morality. How two Marines and Li sniffed stink smell from Chinese spies is educational. Doubt is unpleasant, but certainty is absurd. It is unusual for FLOTUS to play active role in this series. This time she supports her husband by eliciting inside information of Chinese military from a patient’s grandfather, who suffers intra-party conflict. Strangely, Superman, who purchased a Calliope soft, doesn’t show his true colors throughout the story. What was his real purpose to obtain the soft? Was he one of minions of Chinese syndicate? Adara alludes a conversation among Campus members that they esteem Chavez as a Clark’s successor. And Cameron writes about JP, Chavez’s son, as entering Marine Corps at the end of the book. Is alternation of generations approaching in this series too?

AI used as a weapon yields a scary plot still up to the minute
This was published in 2019 but is up to the minute in its central plot: Two software developers come up with a next-level artificial intelligence program. It’s derived from the gaming world but can make a devastating weapon. They’re just interested in making a big financial score. An Indonesian game company magnate wants it.So does Chinese intelligence.Father Pat West, a former spook and an old friend of Jack Ryan’s, is now a Catholic missionary in that heavily Muslim country. He’s stayed in his lane and avoided offending local religious sensibilities. Suddenly he’s caught up in the AI drama - and thrown in jail.It gets Ryan’s Irish up. Meanwhile, the Campus team is detailed to go to Indonesia and recover the AI. Ding Chavez falls into jeopardy. (You pity the fools.)His wife Cathy gets in on the action when a Chinese general’s granddaughter needs a delicate eye operation best done in the United States. Can she, the Secret Service and the CIA rig things to get her a quiet moment with the general, believed to have some valuable information, when he’s at the clinic?Watching the AI at work is scary. It’s not a simple virus, programmed to exploit X vulnerability and then perform Y to penetrate other software. The AI makes its own plan, finds its own pathways and covers its own tracks as it moves unerringly toward its goal.Meanwhile Chinese intelligence is relentlessly at work Stateside. A senator is blackmailed into helping them penetrate the Oval Office. A Chinese-American software developer - and former admiral - is targeted. Chinese hit teams with scary and freaky reliability work the country tying up loose ends. I enjoy what happens when they encounter one loose end they didn’t plan for.John Clark feels his age - his grandson is graduating from high school - and feels out of touch with modern life, but is still lethal out in the field. At the end, his grandson gives him a priceless gift.

Muy fantástico.
El coautor Cameron sigue la trama. Pero que ya sea Ryan el presidente y que su esposa opere a la nieta de un dictador, es demasiado fantástico.

Tom Clancy is Tom Clancy

Great Read
I received the book in excellent condition and am now in the middle of reading this the 27th or 28th book in the Tom Clancy series involving Jack Ryan Sr/Jr. I find the storytelling to be top notch and would recommend the entire series to anyone who enjoys mysteries/thrillers with many of the same characters found in every book.

An excellent book with a great story that could actually be happening today.
This book was typical Clancyish. A good story set in the modern world setting, with characters that represent real people, not the cancel culture or extremes like wokism. The main theme was based around China's wish to dominate the World, which is playing out at present in the real World. AI is the future, how it is utilised and the vagaries that surround it are also a problem in the real World. A good story with plenty of action and intrigue, also a number of Red Herrings. Well done!!

Spannend
Wer die Buchreihe mag, den weird es gefallen. Einzig: die Geschichten werden leider immer kürzer.
