Obviously this presents a problem so I needed a quick solution until the medical problem goes away to prevent a mess in the tub everyday. My daughter is also quite small for her age due to the condition so I did some searching on Amazon and decided on these because of the adjustable waistband and price. I'm relieved to know I found something to help! I know when she has to use the bathroom but I can't stop her "mid deed" because it causes her a great deal of pain so I just have to let it happen. I did with these and there was no mess!! As soon as I knew "the deed was done" I got her our because that is gross but I didn't have to worry about an extra mess to clean up in the tub! Changed her and got rid of the waste, quick spray with the shower head and she was ready to go. Washed and air dried the diaper when I got a free moment and it is ready to be used again. They don't get bulky so there is no absorbent layer so liquid gets through them but not anything solid. I'm assuming this is so they can swim without getting weighed down by bulk. However, I bought these for my tiny 2 year old who is 27lbs and only wears a 18months in bottoms and these were too tight for him.
