i have a honda accord 2010 with more 85xxx miles, 5w-20 is the one i need, but what would be better? this one or the high mileage blend they have

85k is not really high mileage for a Honda. This will work fine. 200k+ maybe switch to high mileage.

First time changing the oil on my 2014 kia forte 1.8 lt, i'm at about 13,600 miles. would this be a good synthetic alternative othen than shell?

Change your oil from every 5-10 miles. I usually go 6-7500 on mine. Valvoline is great motor oil but with a Kia I would use Eneos oil in whatever viscosity your manufacturer call for that particular engine. It’s Japanese oil made by a Japanese company. You can buy off Amazon or at most NAPA stores. Run Eneos and I use K&N oil filter but Wix, Putolater, Mobil 1, Denso filters are also good. Just never use Fram oil filters. Bosch is good too. But use Eneos and change every 6-7500 miles and you will be just fine.
