Does the game come in a box or have a lid to cover it?

Mine came in the cardboard box. It doesn’t seal very well. I will end up taping the bottom.

What is the object of the game?

You roll the dice and close down the numbers. Object is to close them all. So if you rolled a 5 and 6 then you can close any number (s) that add up to 11. So 10 & 1, 9 & 2, 6 & 5. The person that has the least numbers (total) still upright is the winner. I bought it for my work, rehab in the geriatric population. Good for cognition, adding and working on standing tolerance.

Does everyone shut the numbers, or just the player rolling? All these online tutorials are leaving out this important detail.

You can play it either way. So, you can take turns and watch each other play, listing each final score and comparing to decide the winner. Or you can all play at once and then compare the scores of numbers left up to determine winner. Watching works well when folks are just learning the game.
