MephistoMen's Loafer

I’ve worn Mephistos for years and absolutely love them. The retail price point is a bit rich for my budget, so whenever I see them on discount I snap the up. These loafers are fantastic. Very comfortable, durable rubber outsole. I find Mephistos to run about a half size big and these were no exception. Normally wear a 12, got an 11.5 and they fit perfectly.

I was taught in 1991 that Mephistos are sized and fitted larger than Americans are accustomed to. They always seem to large but if you give them a chance and some time, eventually mine have always been the most comfortable shoes I own. So is the case with this pair; the 9 seemed way to large but they are now so comfortable that I won’t take them off for the rest of the spring and summer. Beautiful and priceless shoes.

Well made, comfortable and durable. Fairly presentable in a business context. However, I do prefer the Edlef model of Mephisto shoes. They have a lower toe front, are a bit dressier and, having had them before, are almost indestructible.

10.5 shoes are not 10.5 then are 11.5. I have lined them up with my other shoes and insoles. I think they must have made a mistake in producing these shoes, manufactured 11.5 and stamped them as 10.5.The difference is not marginal. I wear insoles for bone spur problems which are exactly 10.5. They fit every 10.5 shoe I own and with these shoes their is 2-3cm gap at the heel when I insert the insoles. I think the company should do a recall on their shoes given they are clearly faulty.

Mephisto shoes speak for themselves as they are absolute quality ..These were to be a Christmas Gift,so when the box arrived torn,tattered and just damaged,I was very disappointed as I cannot gift these shoes in this box..
