Haoge Bayonet Lens Hood for Canon EF-S 17-55mm f2.8 is USM Lens Replaces Canon EW-83J

Good quality

It fits the lens, but it doesn't come on/off as nicely as other lens hoods. Not nice for when I want to reverse the hood for storage and vice versa to shoot.

Great value

It fits my EFS 17-55. It does NOT fit inverted for storage. It never seems to want to sit flush. It does not seem to engage very well when installed for shooting. At the end of the day it blocks light (which is why you buy a lens hood) and is much less expensive than Canon’s version.

This is not a replacement for a Canon Lens Hood EW-83J in anything but the loosest interpretation. It constantly falls off at the slightest bump or touch. Can but doesn't fit well in reverse attachment. And the anti-glare finish on the inside of the petal is crap. I cannot recomend. At $12 it seems like a steal as the EW-83J is $50, but I am going to the useed marker to get a second hand one at $24 at this point, having thrown away money on this utterly Useless Haoge Bayonet Lens Hood for Canon EF-S 17-55mm f2.8 is USM Lens Replaces Canon EW-83J

Did not fit properly on my canon 17-55 mm EFS lens. Will be returning.
