A day-light tube has close to 5000K or 6000K degrees which it will be hard on my eyes. I think they are good bulbs, I am using one only at this time. However, I have a problem: after 2 months the bulb doesn't start completely at the first start and flickers a bit. I decided to turn the bulb OFF and ON again and the bulb works just fine, pleasant color and I leave it on even in the day-light. You know, living in Seattle is so dark in the winter that we are moving like zombies and you need to have some light on most of the time. I am using also an old light appliance I found in the basement 25 years ago so I don't know if this bulb has a slight issue or my old appliance/starter has an issue being old. I will test another bulb next month. But I encourage you to buy it, the price is right and I am sure it is going to work. The product I bought that works in my fixture is a Sylvania bulb made for my fixture. They are a little shorter but the main thing is at the end of each bulb is a rounded rectangle. When putting in the fixture you need to rotate them and they snap in. I had some problems trying to find what worked in my fixture.
