The Charisma Years [VINYL] Box set

I fervently avoided the Premonitions box set for a couple or reasons. Firstly, I don't have a 5.1 system. Secondly I feel no need to have further stereo mixes as I was happy with the Ben Fenner versions from the mid noughties. Steve Wilson is no doubt a talent fella and his mixes are interesting but again, I wasn't dying to hear them. The live offerings were nice but in the end the cover artwork itself is what put the final nail in the coffin. Not suited to Hacketts style at all. So when I saw the beautiful design on this vinyl box set my eyes flickered and I suddenly became interested again. What you get here are simply the stereo albums presented exactly as the old records were, straight forward with no messing about or splitting albums across different cd discs etcThere are 6 studio albums from 1975 to 1983 and two of them are Steve Wilson remixes - Please don't touch and Spectral Mornings. The rest at the mid-noughties remasters. They are very well mastered and the sound is first class across all of the records. The live in Oxford is nice to have as a traditional double live LP. Reading 81 is there too. My only complaint is that the other show from 1979 is incomplete. What you do get though are all of the MP3s not only of what is included in this box but also everything that was in the premonitions set so you get all of the b-sides and outtakes. Best of all is the artwork which is far superior to the premonitions box set. A great set to own for someone like me who remembers those charisma years first hand and who's original vinyls have all but worn out.

The box set is great value and all the vinyl records are an exact replica of the original releases (I bought this to replace my original collocation as they are worn out from playing), the additional live recordings are gems and a must for any fan. If you like Hackett do yourself a favor and buy it.

I have the Premonitions box set and I am quite happy with it. I also have all these albums in original LP format. I now have this beautiful vinyl box set for just £40 from an Amazon rival on line seller. How good is that.

カリスマ時代の待祭の旅からハイリー・ストロングまでのスタジオアルバム６枚と７９年のレディング・フェスのライブを収めた９枚組のボックスセット。９枚で２万円というコストパフォーマンスもグッド。同時期に出たプリーズ～、虹色の朝、ディフェクターのデラックスエデイションのＣＤとどっちを買おうかと迷ったけど、アナログということと値段でこっちを買いました。内容はもちろん文句なし。ハケットの全盛期を捉えた見事なリリカルでドラマチックなギターサウンだが堪能できます。これと最新作のウルフライトを聞けば繋がりを感じ取ることができると思います。マニアは必聴。
