Can you use this in bed. My husband can not get down on the floor

I would think you could use the Chi Machine on a bed without a problem but I have never done it myself. I can not see why you couldn't. I recommend you get some sacral blocks to support your husbands hips when and if you use the Chi Machine. What are the benefits if any when sitting in a chair?

I see this question is 6 years old, and in all that time not one person answered appropriately. I see so many people answering questions that really have not learned how this machine CAN be used. YES, you can still get benefits from it while sitting in a chair, and resting your feet on it. It has helped many elderly people get circulation in their legs and feet, and is better than a therapist trying to massage their legs, or do the simple movements for them of pushing their legs to a bent position, and then straightening them back out. Highly recommend, even if the person can only SIT and use it. Others have even used it by placing it on a table, and resting their hands on it to give circulation to their arms and upper body. Some people definitely need to think outside the box, and the person asking the question is doing just that. The benefits won't be the same as if one could lay down and use it, BUT there are still benefits to be had in helping to get circulation, and oxygen to the blood, lymph value etc. Use it however you are able to.

I bought this to relax & loosen my lumbar herniated discs & have used daily. How long did it take (similar people) to get pain relief?

I seriously doubt that the Chi Machine will eradicate all pain for all time but with associated exercises relief can be achieve. My back pain started about 30 years ago. Thru exercises and various aids like the Chi Machine am I able to manage my pain to a reasonable level of comfort.
