Would there be a significant difference if i installed this ram instead of the crucial ballistix sport model for the late 2015 imac 27in retina 5k?

Hi znyte. The Ballistix Sport memory of the same speed would have heat spreaders. That would be the main difference between the two.

My late 2015 imac with i7 4.0 says 1867 mhz ddr3 - can you please confirm that this ram pair will work at 1867 for imac late 2015 ?

I think the memory is compatible but beware that Crucial may not stand behind it! I installed this RAM in a late 2015 iMac and it began crashing daily. When I contacted Crucial customer support they said the memory is 'a PC memory module not compatible with Apple systems' and they refused to exchange or return it.

What I do know is that the Ballistix are specifically made for High performance and they have really nice heat spreaders/syncs. I can not comment on their performance because they get good reviews but if I were to get RAM right now I would probably by the Ballistix because they are made for increasing the performance and speed of your system and the dissipation of heat is always important in electronics since temperature(T) is in many equations dealing with semiconductors...Good luck.
