Paine's Balsam Fir Incense - 70 Sticks Refill - Two Inches Long

For those of us old enough to have walked into Adventure 16 in W.Los.Angeles in the 1970's -----you too might remember that lovely fragrance that hit you once you walked inside that door :) ..... I've only 1 stick of "Campfire Memories Incense" left ----and I sure ain't burning to in order to see if 'THIS' matches my grandeur memories of being 5 years old, OR even my memories of not 'that' too long ago (or so it seems). I'm probably saving that '1 stick' for the day I expect to die of natural causes ;)) That said (even after 'the smells like burning bushes' reviews), I gotta say this seems to come close to those sensory memories of days-of-yore-long-past-gone now. IT AIN'T nothing close to 'nasty burning leaves' as some say! I find it more of a subtle aroma that SHOULD still remind you of the good-old-fashioned Campfire Memories Incense... or even the outdoors/campfires. Again, not the same ----but close enuf to Campfire Memories!! Soothing, aromatic, and offers at least the thought of being in the outdoors. Having the original 'Campfire Memories' box (w-said 1 stick left (and burner too!)), I've taken a look at the 'ingredients' and it says: "Fir, Balsam, Cedar". I think that might be the issue for those of us longing otherwise..... the CEDAR is missing (and I couldn't find one that they did). These contain only Fir & Balsam ---NO cedar. BUT these are CLOSE enough to not rattle one's brain over it.... as I said, THIS COMES CLOSE, it seems/I think (and honestly folks ----there ain't any other choice/discovery out there that I've yet to find). So yes, you may think otherwise and be in complete disagreeance with me :) **(or perhaps someone might pass along their best find that compares to "Campfire Memories"?)** Yeah, cedar now has $$$$ uses now -------so NO SURPRISE, there ain't NO cedar in this. BUT, as I said ---IT COMES CLOSE!!!! It'll be a gamble for those searching for those sweet "Campfire Memories" all in a simple incense stick..... but if you're desperate -----I'd give 'em a try; I personally am 'decently' satisfied. Ignore the poor reviews and pick up (even a small pack) to find out for yourself. Burn a couple, let the wafting smell linger, leave the room, and then come back. I did, and I'm fairly decently surprised..... so yeah, HAPPY enough!!!! It definitely ain't just 'burning leaves'. Incense can be such a personal thing..... I find certain Frankencense annoying/and others not so much annoying. My favorite brand & STILL AROUND (even since CampMems are now gone) ------WHICH SHOULD STILL RING A BELL with many (of my age) is "Incienso De Santa Fe". They too existed long ago and ARE STILL AROUND!!!!!! But even if choosing them, you sadly ain't gonna find anything like "Campfire Memories" even thru them (I usually go w-Mesquite, Cedar, Pine just for the soothing sense of memories/and prefs now). PS: Juniper ain't bad either but 'it can require a working-towards taste for it'. AND NOW for my BLAST upon many of the reviewers: 1) IT DOES & WILL STAY LIT ..... have you ever heard of a BIC Lighter? ALSO TRY taking a moment more by slowly twirling the stick whence it's in the flame. YES --something that might take a bit more time than your cellphone opening up youtube's latest video!!!! YES folks, the incense DOES LIGHT and WILL STAY LIT if one spends the 'proper need of time' req'd. 2) Try going camping and enjoying it. The world really will not end without your cellphone in tow!! Don't believe me, try watching the 2020 Jumani movie!!! Yes, you too truly can survive a wknd sans connecting to the rest of the world!! And hey, you too might even become a better person by doing so. 3) If you've tried the above (and still hated it) -------please do not call something 'burning leaves' in a review for all to read when the rest of us are trying to find something 'special'. AND, 4) IF you DO NOT like the outdoorsy smells (or other things found here on amzn), there are much better ways to implement your words to say so. Tis no need to literally trash something because 'moi' does not like it! Reminds me of Christmas and the Adirondacks. Awesome smell. No burning issues. House smells great.

We love all of Paine's incense. We buy them every time we make a trip to the Great Smoky Mountains, but we typically end up running out before our next vacation. A little bit of a web search brought us here to Amazon where we now order them as needed! The quality has always been great and the aroma fills the house with that old log cabin aroma.

Years ago, I purchased a log cabin incense burner and some "Campfire Memories" incense. I absolutely loved the fragrance, but haven't been able to find that brand in ages. Eventually, I found this Paine's Balsam Fir incense on Amazon and gave it a try. It is not exactly the same as Campfire Memories, but I like it. I also like that it is manufactured here in the USA (Maine). I have ordered it multiple times. Would recommend.

I received a cabin incense burner and some of the incense, "logs" 20+ years ago. A few years ago, i found the thing again, and wondered where to get more of the incense sticks. Just searching for something like, "Cabin incense burner" showed me the incense was still available. I've purchased these refills on Amazon a few times since then. The incense, has the smell of a campfire. It's not for everyone. Also, a tip for those who are griping about not being able to light the incense. This incense, takes a bit more work that others. I have to hold a flame to the end for 15 seconds or so, gently blow it out, light again, gently blow out, and I continue this until there is a red-hot burning ring around the end of the incense. After that, it stays lit. After that, if using the log cabin incense burner, I place it in there, watch it for 10 seconds or so, make sure it is burning OK, then place the roof/lid of the burner on top, and it's good to go. So, if you want a campfire type of smell, and are willing to spend a half-minute getting the incense lit properly, well, this stuff is a good choice.

Purchased the large box for the price. Had no problem with the small boxes of 24. But these sticks are perhaps too compact/dense and besides being hard to light, tend to go out and stop burning and have to be continually relit. Disappointed.
