I am surprised on how many projects were completed with this bag of dowels. They are a hard wood with deep ridges, to hold the glue. Not a cheap pine or fir. I did buy these for a particular project but in just a week or so I have used them to complete several other projects that have been sitting, waiting for a solution. Seems this is a standard size that fits just about everything. I purchased these for repair on a large picture frame and they worked perfect with no additional drilling. We also have a shelving unit where the barrel bolts loosened up and the machine screws would not hold, same with a crib. I was thinking of so many options up till now and when these arrived, they looked perfect for the task. A spot of wood glue and just hammered them in one after the other till the hole was filled and the joint complete. Too easy but the repair was solid and met my standards which are high for a crib. I have used most of the bag but will be ordering more in a few different sizes once these are gone. For a solid repair hardwood dowels and a good quality wood glue beats a screw any day in my opinion.

These were just right for putting together a cabinet that was missing all the hardware. Well made & has held up well over a year. I did add some wood glue to ends for extra stability. But probably wasn't necessary. Good value.

Was in the middle of putting together a piece of furniture I had ordered online. I found that the company did not include enough wooden dowels and the ones that they did were cracked.. These were stronger and just enough to finish the project with two extra to spare. They are great, strong the right size an just better than the project one, Yes i would buy these again.

These things are good. They don't splinter apart or anything. Only very small issue I had was they are a little big. They are supposed to be 8mm but they are more like 8.5mm. i had to hammer them into the piece I was working on, I know they need to be snug but these can put unnecessary stress into the piece because they are big.

As needed, solid and fit is exact.

I ordered these to help me put together a project that did not come with hardware. These look exactly like the listing and are perfect for the job. Overall, I'm very pleased.

I was putting together a chair and my dog ate one of these. :/ I was able to order a whole pack for cheap and put the rest in my tool chest. Super convenient!

These are a little bit under the stated diameter which can make them too loose for a good joint.
