Hey, its Danny. I just had this delivered to the house, I'll be home from Afghanistan in a few days so I thought I'd ship it home to try it out and if it can handle what I throw at it I'll be shipping it out to Afghanistan for the crew to use! (UPDATE) Alright guys, Danny's back! I left the first ever review on this bad boy and its time for my update. This speaker is taking everything ive thrown at it. Ive had it blairing on the flightline in Afghanistan as jets take off and ive had it on the boat back in Tennessee, Ive had it playing quietly on the desk and Weve had it outside the helicopter while were doing maintenance and it just makes a better day, the battery would make the energizer bunny jealous. The speaker gets used about 10 hours a day ( usually has about 50% to 25% charge left) and i keep it charged regularly. So far the battery shows no sign of degradation. Its been doused in water countless times and has been left to cook in the heat. I carry it twice a day in my back pack about a half mile to my bunk, 20 lbs aint nothin. I have had 0 connection issues, 0 battery issues, and no set backs. Volume down low its crisp and clean, ive only ever had to turn it up to 70% volume ( work in a crazy loud environment and it stands up to the task) and it just spools power and remains crystal clear, no distortion ( tons of bass up loud). I am probably the first owner of this speaker and if youre looking for a great speaker for the money id stop looking and get it!!! Also its very dusty out here in the mountains of Afghanistan and it being ip67 i have no issues with dust getting in, when it needs cleaning i just spray the hose over it and shes good to go. (1 YEAR UPDATE) Alrighty, I've had this speaker since it was first released, it performs as well as the day I bought it, it has a few dents in the screen, a few nicks and scratches but they're all battle scars, it's as waterproof as advertised still, all the gaskets, lights, buttons, and speakers are perfectly in tact. Even the printing on the buttons is still like new. The sound quality is amazing and it has become a part of the team in Afghanistan, we dont go out without it! 1.5 years. Still going strong folks. I paid over $200 for it when it was first released and it was worth every penny. I use it alot more than it may have been intended but it has had absolutely no issues. I have gotten it to full volume a few times out on the flight line and to put it into prospective, I have walked into the hanger ~ 600 ft away and could still make out what song was playing easily, In a somewhat calm environment. This can handle any back yard get together. I'd like to add that this speaker has had around 20-30 people sync their phones to it with no issues( many different types of phones & brands) 4 year update. Well, I've had this since they released it and I'm not going to lie, this speaker has been absolutely neglected. The worst was leaving it in a metal shipping container for a whole summer in kuwait after we pulled out of Afghanistan, ambient temperatures in there daily around 150°f. I did replace the battery to be safe after... not because it was bad but I was unsure of its integrity. It's been a good speaker and still running strong, still water proof and no issues. 10/10 would recommend. The video is it on its natural state, we wash it off once in a while.

1 Year Update: Both speakers going great! Love the stereo feature combining both the speakers. Also a shout out to Lynda at Ecoxgear for her excellent responsiveness for any questions I have had with the setup. A truly rugged speaker, works just fine even if you throw it in the pool, or leave it out in the Sun! This is our second speaker of the exact same kind. We bought the first one many years ago, primarily to take it to Drive-In theaters. With it's FM radio and long battery life, not just us but many cars around us enjoyed the 4-speaker sound from this unit. Fast forward many years, and one day it stopped working , so I ordered a new one from Amazon. Just as I was to recycle the old unit, I reached out to ECOXGEAR to see if they could do anything for a way out of warranty speaker. To my surprise, they said they would fix it! And when I sent it in, they sent me a new factory certified unit. Kudos for their service. Now that we have 2 of these speakers, we use them in a special mode (built-in), where you can use one speaker as a Left speaker and another as a Right speaker to get a Stereo sound with depth. Works great with Bluetooth to play music at poolside parties, or with an outdoor projector to make the movies a deeper sound. The only downside is that the speaker is heavy. Not an issue for me, but if you want to carry it around, you will build some strong shoulder muscles.

I’ve used this speaker for three years now. Usually on the boat, camping, or in the garden while I work. Battery life is wonderful and it’s incredibly loud. Great sound and base even all the way up. Highly recommend this product.

I got this thing dec of 2024. I use for my color guard students. This thing is great sound quality works both in doors and outdoors. Though it occasionally overheated in the summer and shut itself off. Biggest issue I’ve just started having blue tooth connection issues. It will randomly disconnect from our devices and sometimes needs to be FULLY reset in order to repair. All in all tho it’s still going strong and it’s a good bang for your buck!

Update; used this for 4 hours on a boat with it loud enough to hear over the engine. When we got home I ran it all evening pretty low for another 6 hours. Only used 2 bars of battery. It was great on the boat, took splashes fine and loud enough to hear. Was running it at about 12-15 with phone volume cranked up. Still really enjoying it! First day owning this speaker and so far I like it. It is a mid range Bluetooth speaker so I don't expect it to have outstanding sound. It charged for about 6 hours our of the box. I ran it while washing cars for 2 hours at half volume. Lost one bar of battery. I was able to walk about 100 feet away without issue and even went inside the house at one point and didn't loose connection. It was plenty loud and I could just hear it over the vacuum. For a bomb proof outdoor speaker I don't think you can go wrong with this speaker. Job site, camping, boating, sports events this thing will rock. Side note, the battery is a 12 volt lead acid that you can replaced. So if you had to have it at max volume for long periods of time, buy a couple at $25 on Amazon and charge them up.

Produces good loud sound. Easy to connect to. Simple controls. Good value. Not too big. Would buy again.

Great sound, seems fairly durable, and has some great features. Been using it via bluetooth from my phone since I have a free trial of XM for a few months. Been great! Only issue I've seen with it is a little glitch in the equalizer. You can set the equalizer to suit whatever style of music you listen to, or program your own custom setting to it. Every time I shut the unit off, the "rock" setting defaults to the bland sounding default setting - I have to jump one setting back, then go back to "rock", and it's fine. I have to do this each time the unit is powered back on again. Minor annoyance. Sometimes the bluetooth signal gets screwed up, even though I'm just feet away from it. This just happened today for the first time. Normally I can wander out almost 100' away from it while it's inside my uninsulated shop before it starts breaking up. When the XM ends I'll revert back to my MP3 hookup (which it has the small jack for) and play that. I was wondering about that before I bought it, because several units out there no longer have the jack to hook one of these up. I'm sure it's outdated, like everything I own, but I'm not one to throw money around on something that still works! Overall, very happy with the purchase so far. Time will tell of its longevity - only had it just shy of 5 weeks so far. Temps in my shop swing from the teens up to the 90's Fahrenheit. So far the cold doesn't seem to bother it.

Wow! This product is amazing. It is exactly what I was looking for for a long time. It took 9-10 hours for the first charge. I haven't had a chance to try its battery life. The sound quality is way more than I expected. It would be better if it had lights on the stereos. Update: The volume level is between 0-30. On low volume (volume 3-4) it plays more than 15 hours. At full volume, however, it lasts only for an hour! I really like to product, its waterproofness, design. But the battery life is not good enough. I already called the customer service and they are happy to replace it. I wanted to give it an another chance and charged fully. But still it doesn't last more than an hour at full volume. So, I will replace it and get a new one. I hope the new product won't give the same problem and its battery life is longer.

I love this stereo. It's precisely what I was looking for. The body is made of a high quality plastic with the handle made of metal and rubber. The sound quality is excellent for what this stereo is intended for, and I'm picky. It's no Klipsch or Harman Kardon, but why should it be. It's not HiFi, and isn't boasted as such, so in fairness, I won't judge it against such standards. It does cover the highs and mids respectably well, and especially so for using sealed waterproof speakers. I find the "classic" eq to be the clearest and most well rounded setting. The bass sounds quite natural with the passive radiators and has a good amount of thump, however you'll be disapointed if your main goal is powerful bass. I'm more focussed on natural sound reproduction than sound pressure, but I know a lot of people value bass, so I figured I'd mention that. I recommend the ECOXGEAR Boulder if your primary objective is booming bass. I like how this stereo is chunky, yet is easy enough to carry. It's very tough and is built to last. I use mine for work, camping and tubing. The bluetooth range is about 50 to 60ft for mine before the playback starts to clip, but I usually have my phone sitting on it, so that's not a bother. The battery however, does stand up as advertised. On campfire nights over long weekend camping, it has lasted the whole weekend with the volume at a level good for enjoyment while being able to talk with friends. In wide open spaces, the speaker can fill the area with music effectively. If you're close to it, you'll need to raise your voice quite a bit for other people to hear you. I highly recommend this unit for anyone who is interested. It's built really well and uses an easy to replace tried-and-true lead-acid battery. I have a feeling it's a mobility scooter/moped battery, and I am all for that simplicity and serviceability. It does everything it's supposed to do exceptionally well. I'm the type of person who likes owning quality equipment that can take a beating while at the same time treating it well so it lasts. My coworkers and friends are impressed by it and have asked me where I got it. If you're looking for a rugged bluetooth speaker that's not full of flash and performs admirably well, then I think this product will be a good fit for you too.

I use this unit mostly to listen to ''back tracks'' when I play guitar. There is just a little something missing, the ''fullness'' I guess, but as far as listening to the radio, or spotify, sound quality is good.

I bought this stereo in September 2020. Absolutely loved it, unfortunately it did get water damaged (make sure it’s only in 3 feet of water for less than 30 minutes). However, after contacting their customer service I was sent a brand new speaker at no cost, all while being updated through email every step of the way. Excellent customer service, the best I have experienced for any product I have ever purchased. Highly recommend this stereo 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

Expected more bass. Disappointed. You can feel it inside the cab of a vehicle but that’s it. Outside the bass is not there

Excellent sound and will outlast any pastry if battery is fully charged. If it doesn’t you can still charge and plY at same time. Looking forward to using this on the water all summer.
