On February 17, 2013, Soundgarden concluded a sold-out U.S. tour in support of King Animal, their 1st studio album in over 16 years, with a special Live From The Artists Den taping at the Wiltern in Los Angeles. The 29-song set features 21 songs never released on a Soundgarden concert film, including 17 never released on a live album. 4 LP on 180-gram vinyl. Review: Great Concert Blu-Ray Disc - I have so many concert DVD's/Blu-Ray discs in my collection of music. But I have to say that the quality of the visual picture on this Soundgarden Blu-Ray discs is by far the best I've ever seen. It is immaculate! This discs is so well produced and the images are so crystal clear it makes you feel like you're at the concert sitting front and center on the first row of the mezzanine level. The surround sound is also great as well. Soundgarden also employed a great playlist for the concert. A great concert to remember a great band by. Review: A Classic gift has been given to the music fan with this recording - In the 70's a bands sound was established by their energy and live sound, Peter Frampton showed us what a live album could do for ones career. Cheap Trick gave us Live at the Budokan. The Holly Grail of live albums has always been UFO strangers in the night. All Classic bands released a Live record back in the day. it was automatic after your sophomore or junior release. Foghat, Styxs, Foreigner, Ted Nugent, anybody and everybody in the 60 and 70 recording industry had their live release. Finally the Seattle sound has the ultimate live go to record a classic was born I hope you as a music fan that in this era of recorded sound we don't get something this special. The way the front man talks to you and brings you into part of the show how this band was really connecting with the audience is all special. The sound quality mix is above average for a live recording. A personal thank you to the Soundgarden family for this destined Classic record.

One last look at a great band.
This is about what you expect from a new release with material recorded in the last decade that gets a prominent release on bluray. And that's a good thing. The HD is very well done, and the sound is amazing. The visuals give you great depth and presence at the show, and the setlist has a fantastic array of both new and old songs for everybody to enjoy. It's sad it had to end like it did, but if Soundgarden are going to be remembered, this is a great performance of theirs that includes a lot of their best material in stunning clarity. If you didn't a chance to see them, then you gotta pick this up. While it's not from the peak of their youth, everyone here is in fine form. Decent price to boot.

Excellent Live Performance
Great sound on the 2 CD's. The band sounds great. Chris Cornell stretches his voice at times, but overall he sounds good. Before I purchased this, I was mostly familiar with Superunknown and Down on the Upside. The live versions of the King Animal and Badmotorfinger got me to listen to those CD's as well, and the mix of songs from all of Soundgarden's albums, plus a song and the final feedback not on any album, make for a good retrospective of the band's entire career. I've always felt the band has not received enough recognition, and this live CD set of 29 songs proves my point.

Poor Sound Quality
This review is about the sound quality of the album rather than the music itself which is excellent. On some of the tracks static can be heard and becomes very apparent when played at louder volumes. I purchased this on CD thinking that the quality would be better than on MP3 and am extremely disappointed by the quality. The static can be heard on both discs. At first I thought it was my equipment, but then listened to the music on multiple systems, PC, stereo receiver and my car and was able to hear the static on all platforms. Perhaps I just received a "lemon." I will send the CDs back and get a replacement and update if the sound quality is better. Again I am extremely disappointed by the quality here, especially since the recent remastered Soundgarden work has been of exceptional quality. UPDATE: I was sent a replacement copy of the double CD set and am happy to report that the sound quality was greatly improved. I no longer heard the annoying static even at louder volumes. If you happen to get a copy with poor sound, don't think that you just have to live with it, return it for a replacement of this amazing show!

What a concert film should look and sound like
Unlike the many over-stylized concert films (yes, Metallica, we're looking at you) the Artist Den takes a true, you're there approach. The picture is crisp, the camera is steady, it looks and feels like you're there. Not only that, but Soundgarden is one of the best live bands in history, they are tight and Chris's vocals never fail. One of the few concert disk I can just sit and watch like any movie or show, it's just that well done.

Knights of the sound table ride again.
Awesome video quality.. blu-ray (1080p) in the US. Great set list that encapsulates the variety of songs that soundgarden are known for. Super impressed with the tight sound that the band display in this video. If you're a fan of SG this is for you. Probably the PAL (576i) was for other region's formats (to answer the useless "review" question about the listing- I guess the use of a comma was confusing). Amazon should realize that wasn't a review but a question.

Fantastico¡
I'm ten minutes to the end of the concert bluray & it's really good, obviously . It's exhaustive at times, even; but I did get up about 10 songs in & cleaned the apt pretty thoroughly with it on, turned up respectively loud enough for apt living. Perhaps a bit louder. It's a whole lotta Soundgarden show. As fantastic as this performance is , I'll say I'm happier still to have seen them on every tour from 91 - 96. With no recorded video or audio except memories of how I remember each of those times I saw them, sometimes better than they actually were or the opposite could be true. One worth getting if you're a big fan, maybe still into physical product. RIP Chris

In My Time Of Dying”.
