I noticed someone else mentioned the straps were too long and others say they were too short. If they're too short, don't cross them in the back. If they're too long, cross them in the back. It's that simple.Bought this for my upcoming trip to Munich for Oktoberfest. This lederhosen is a Monet. From afar it looks great. The leather is heavy and seems to be crafted well. But when you get up close there are some minor detail issues. The stitching on the leather suspender-like straps isn't identical. They're similar, but not the same, and if I suffered from OCD this would drive me nuts. The buckles on the suspenders aren't very high quality, either. Hopefully they hold up (no pun intended) while I'm drinking liters of beer in Germany in about a month.This lederhosen is made of heavy quality leather. The lining on the inside is NOT high quality. It seems like they cheaped out on the lining in order to cut costs. The lining in the legs detached from the leather after trying them on once as I pulled my leg out. They still work fine, but I was a little disappointed that happened at all. The lining of the pockets are made out of the same cheap material. He is normally size 32 waist (48 German according to the size chart), but I bought a size bigger (German size 50) based on the other reviews. The size 50 is a little tight in the butt and thighs (he has a pretty athletic build), and a little loose around the waist, but overall I think this was the right size to order for him. The suspenders that came with the pants were a bit short, but we can make them work (definitely won't be crossing them in the back) - just enough leather to go straight down the back. The top (long) straps did not have any holes cut for the belt buckle (front/chest) or slits for the buttons to connect them to the back of the pants, so we had to cut these ourselves. Also one strap was about an inch longer than the other. For the money I paid, I would have at least expected the straps to be of equal length. But overall the quality of the material, etc. was good and consistent with our expectations. My husband is a size 40 in regular pants and we ordered a size 60 in these. He is 6'8" and the chest strap hits more mid-abdomen than mid-chest like it should, but I think it would fit most men just fine. Like others said, the button holes are a little tight but nothing too concerning. The stitching looks nice and the leather is thick and heavy. We purchased these for our first trip to Munich's Oktoberfest and are now even more excited about our trip!
