Laxatone Catnip-Flavored Hairball Remedy Gel for Cats, 4.25oz

My cats loved this flavor. I have three long-haired cats. This hairball remedy, laxative, is a lifesaver. I can’t get them to eat any of the other flavors. I’m so thankful for this one. And it works well. No more hairballs.

Have had really good luck with this product. I wouldn't say that the cats like it, but not sure that any brand would be acceptable to them! It does work great if you can get it in the cat!

This is a good product if your cat doesn't have a sensitive digestion system or allergies to food. It works good, but for my cat, it gave him diarrhea or loose stools. So, I had to time it a couple hours after feeding to ensure it wouldn't upset his stomach. I could only give hime a 1/4 teaspoon 2x a week. Any more than that and it was trouble! Switched to a natrual non0laxative formula instead.

So I have two cats. The one that really needs the product does not like it so I put dabs on his face right below his nose, which he doesn't like but tolerates. I wouldn't like goo on my face either, so I get it. #2 cat does not have a hair ball issue and he shows up when I'm treating #1 to voluntarily lick it off my fingertip. Such is the life of the cat owner. Mr. Fickle seems to nominally tolerate the Catnip flavor over the Tuna flavor. Mr. Undiscerning will eat it all. And it works.

Honestly I didn’t know how many stars to give b/c my cat was not loving the smell or taste of this product and was repulsed by it. So basically I tried putting REAL catnip on top of this gel to see if I could sneak it in him, bc I feel like he does need help with fur balls and concerned about him. But I don’t know if this would be a produce we would keep just bc of the smell and taste. I can’t even sneak it in him! 😫

Though my cats typically love catnip flavored items, this was a complete fail. One of them licked once, but never again; the other wouldn’t touch it at all. Extremely disappointed in this product that has so many positive reviews. And of course, I have no chance of recouping the expense..

My two Siamese cats took to it right away. No hesitation on the taste at all.

Bought from the US as I couldn't find a UK supplier of the supposed catnip 'flavor' remedy - having tried my cat on the molasses / malt smelling similar products he didn't like. He likes catnip, but there's not even a hint of it in smell, just of molasses / malt - end result he turned away as fast as he did with the others. Contacted Tomlyn customer care asking what ACTUAL content of catnip there was in the product (the ingredients doesn't state it, only stating catnip flavor) - they didn't answer the question and just provided irrelevant information.
