Cactus, yeast, acid and water and yet the end result is akin to a shave!
I was actually looking forward to test driving this product from the “The Father of Internal Skincare”, a title Dr Murad supposedly gained from being an originator of the use of dietary supplements to promote skin health as well as pioneering the use of Alpha Hydroxy Acids in topical skin care. At least therefore someone who has spent a life time studying skin! That aside, like all such cosmetic products one has to carefully (very carefully) read between the lines of the claims & miracles as promised on the packaging. In this case we are told that the new advanced formula (was there an old one?) will “Brighten, smooth and hydrate skin to see a radiant glow after just one treatment”. It goes on.....”Glycolic Acid exfoliates to accelerate turnover of dark damaged cells, removing dullness and improving skin texture. Myrtle Extract supports cellular renewal to boost youthful resilience and elasticity. Vitamin C and Indian Fig protect against free radical damage while enhancing skin clarity and luminosity.” To afford you an idea of what I mean, applying boiling hot water to your face will 100% definitely give you a “radiant glow” ditto any acid applied to the face will sure as hell accelerate exfoliation and covering your face with mud will definitely protect from free radicals. Apart from the acid however none of these sadly will have any lasting effect on your looks! So enough of the sarcasm, how does it perform? Well the honest answer is, I am not quite sure. Yes when applied on the face (does anyone really want to exfoliate their chest?) I experienced the slightest of tingling and admittedly after using the product twice weekly I could see a healthy glow and my skin felt pleasantly soft to the touch. But to be honest did I notice any permanent changes? Well sadly no I did not. Indeed a closer inspection of the ingredients (something else that should always be studied carefully) I wasn’t that surprised. The main ingredient is (wait for it) erm water, followed by a plethora of exotic sounding chemicals that look good but in reality do precious little (Hydrolyzed Opuntia Ficus as an example is a species of Cactus). There is one ingredient that will affect the skin, namely Glycolic acid. Now this has been around for a long time and is a well known skin exfoliator that works, but bought in isolation it can be obtained for a lot cheaper than when combined with Cactus + Water. The key thing to remember here is that exfoliation IS good for the skin, apply a hard cloth to the face of shave daily and you will soon see the benefits, but that aside, as far as I am concerned there is little else here that will have any long term impact on the appearance of skin and at almost £28 per 100g this is one hell of an expensive product! To conclude at half the price I may have been tempted to up the star rating to a 4, possibly even a 5, but at almost £50 and with more or less the same results as shaving followed by moisturising I’m afraid three is as high as I can go.

Good cleansing mask.
Good quality face mask, used exactly the sae way as others. It is softer than most, didn't harden into a crackled surface, and it was a bit tingly but not painfully or unpleasantly so. It's only 50ml and at the advertised price I was only going to use it on my face and neck rather than down onto my chest, because if it was as good as the price indicated then I'll save it up for areas that need most hsbitual TLC.I did give my face a good scrub with face wash first and exfoliated beforehand , so that if there were unusual effects from this product they'd be noticeable. I cannot in all honestly say that there were, any more than my normal product from a well known High Street beauty shop. This left my skin very clean, like all face masks removing all the deep ground into the pores muck, and don't know if you'd say glowing, more very clean and physically tingling really, but every single one of my wrinkles remains stubbornly in situ. The packaging is different to the illustrations. This is more akin to an Oil of Olay moisturiser pump container, white with orange bands and black writing, and an outer black box. It's a decent face mask, but not so sure it's worth the asking price when the market is full of similar and significantly cheaper products.
