Absolutely buy this!
This is a review of the loop style (so called 'matt black') option here. I'm really not sure how anyone would think the back of the packaging is an actual template for the hole drilling!! It quite obviously isn't a template (see my photos) - you only have to look at the holes in the actual anchor base to see that. Just use the base as a template!! This is an excellent anchor and is easy to fit to either a masonry wall or concrete floor. In addition you will need a 16mm diameter masonry drill bit with a good hammer drill and a hammer! The 2 hex (or Allen) keys needed are supplied, as are the main expanding bolts, plastic screw caps and ball bearings to make the main bolts anti-tamper once fixed in place. Undo the 2 black screws holding the plastic cover to the base with the smaller of the two hex keys. Use the base as a template or take the required dimensions from the back of the packaging (these dimensions are correct as written, it is not intended as a template). Mark the wall with a pencil - make large crosses or your marks will disappear as you drill. If drilling into brick, and certainly if drilling into concrete, you will need a powerful, mains powered hammer drill - preferably an SDS type. A cordless hammer drill won't be up to the job - unless of course you are drilling into a softer cinder block wall. It's a good idea to drill first with a smaller diameter masonry drill bit to give an accurate pilot hole and then drill with the larger 16mm bit. Drill to at least 70mm deep (a bit of tape on the drill as a guide or keep inserting a pencil at frequent intervals to check the depth). Then, importantly, vacuum the dust out. Don't blow, unless you want a face full of brick dust! Insert the 4 silver expanding bolts into the holes. Keep the bolts lightly done up in their housings to do this otherwise you could lose the correct engagement of the expansion piece on the end. Make sure the housings are all the way into the holes and flush with or just below the surface, then unscrew the bolts from the housings completely. Put the base in place and fasten with the bolts into their housings using the larger of the two hex keys until very tight. The bolt housings will expand outwards as you tighten, to grip the inside of the holes you drilled. Once happy with the tightness - bearing in mind (no pun intended) that this is the point of no return - take the 4 ball bearings and hammer one into each of the silver bolt heads to prevent any attempt at unscrewing the anchor. Then replace the plastic cover and fasten with the black screws (removed earlier) using the smaller hex key. Put the plastic screw caps in place. All done! This is a really good value anchor at this price. The loop is a good size for a chain or a D-lock and is very sturdy. All welds are excellent and well finished too. The black coating on the iron work appears tough and very well finished. Obviously anybody with an angle grinder will get through it eventually, as they will with any locking device, even sold secure gold or diamond locks can be cut that way. This is as sturdy as some (named) anchors costing much more. Thoroughly recommended! Great value, quality anchor. Definitely worth buying!

Good deterrent when used properly and with realistic expectations
Let's be honest from the outset. If someone REALLY wants your bike, and it is not in the house, then there is probably little you can do to stop the thieving......! However, most thefts are those of opportunity and minimal security. Alas connecting a live electricity feed to the security chain/bike is not allowed (apparently it is very illegal). This is because we should not do anything that could result in the prospective thief being harmed in the act of trying to take your bike ;-) This ground anchor is strong and when fitted to something substantial, makes a good base to secure your bike using a chain, D lock or whatever else you want to use. Others have already said the template is not right when marking the holes. I just used the common sense approach. Remove the top cover, place anchor on ground, use small drill bit (8mm in this case) and drill shallow pilot holes through the 4 holes the bolts will go through! You will need a 16mm masonry drill bit to drill the actual holes, and remember if you are not using an SDS drill, change the setting to hammer or you could be there a while! :) Once you have fitted the bolts and tightened them up (an allen key is supplied but I used an impact driver) you place one of the 4 supplied ball bearings into the top of each bolt and then apply a couple of quick hits with your trusty persuasion tool (hammer) to make them permanently secured. Well this side of a disc cutter anyway. Final job is to fit top cover, secure with the 2 small bolts and apply the protective caps. After that, you are set. Overall, I am very impressed with the quality.

Solid
It’s a solid anchor point for my son’s motorcycle. It’s easy to install if you have the right drill bit. I used 16x160mm one and was perfect for the job.

Sturdy and Reliable, but Be Careful During Installation
I have to say, it’s a great item. It does exactly what it claims on the box, providing a solid and secure anchor point for my motorbike. I had it installed in my garage, and it gives me a much greater sense of security knowing that my bike is safely locked in place. The build quality is impressive, and it feels like a durable, hardened steel anchor. The flip-up/down mechanism works smoothly, and it’s easy to use, making it a convenient way to lock my bike. Overall, it provides peace of mind and adds an extra layer of security. However, I did make a mistake during installation. I used a small SDS drill to make the hole in the concrete, intending to enlarge it with a bigger drill. This was a bad idea as the slarger drill bit got stuck, which made the process more difficult. I’d recommend using a larger drill from the start to avoid this issue. Pros: Strong and durable construction. Provides an additional layer of security for motorbikes. Easy-to-use flip-up/down mechanism. Cons: Be cautious during installation; a smaller drill may get stuck when enlarging the hole. Final Thoughts: Overall, this anchor lock does exactly what it’s supposed to do, and I feel much safer using it. Just be careful during installation to avoid any potential headaches. Once it’s in place, it’s a reliable and secure choice for motorbike security.

Value for money
This seems very sturdy and secure, i kicked at it a couple of times and there was absolutely no moment so I'm pretty happy with it, it's attached to the side of the wall rather than the floor and seems to hold up pretty well, seems like good value for money

Very good quality and strong
Seems to be very strong and well made. Even comes with small ball bearings to put in the head of the screws so they can’t be removed easily by thieves.
