One of my first purchases when I brought the car home was the Haynes manual for the MGB. I used to always get a Haynes manual when I owned cars in the 80's. You could still fix most problems without a lift and special equipment then. The Haynes manual arrived in the morning. I read the chapter on starter motors and had the car running in about 2 hours. The manual walked me through the steps to diagnose the problem and, once I knew what it was, how to repair it. Fortunately, this was a relatively easy fix. But I'd still be tearing my hair out trying to diagnose the problem with YouTube videos and random suggestions from people with "helpful" suggestions involving crystals and checking tire pressure without a well-written and serious manual Haynes wrote.
