Speedo Aqua Fit Swim Training Gloves

I now seem to have bought every make and model of this type of swimming glove on the market: (1) Speedo with velcro wrist cuff; (2) Speedo without wrist-cuff; (3) Aquasphere with wrist cuff and these un-branded ones. I swim quite seriously (100 lengths about 4 times a week taking me about 50 minutes per session). This type of product doesn't greatly increase your speed, but definitely gives you a serious upper body workout into the bargain ! I have counted that without the gloves it takes me one less stroke to complete a length than with them, but after the first few times you use them you really feel it - thereafter you begin to build up muscle tone to compensate. The problem with the velcro-wrist type is that the velcro has a habit of wearing loose (and no, I haven't over-tightened it). This can become a bit irritating. By contrast those without the wrist cuff can wear loose over time (buy a slightly smaller size to allow for stretch over time).My winner is the Speedo with velcro wrist cuff: the cuff hasn't worn out after a couple of weeks use. Moreover the more solid rubber 'hand sole' gives greater resistance than other brands. Second on the list would be these unbranded ones, which seem to have a stronger velcro strapping. Third the aquasphere model and finally the speedo without the wrist band. In fact if I'd bought a size smaller of the Speedo without the wrist band these might have been my favourite, but lost out for not providing much resistance......So there is a full review of all of them....!

These were actually a birthday present for my son, who swims regularly for exercise, and therefore likes the increased water resistance they give.

Brought for aqua aerobics aka aqua torture and absolutely brilliant. Really works your arms and chest.

The only issue I have with this, being the x-large size I brought, is to say that I have thin and long fingers but these were clearly designed for someone with fat fingers. Nevertheless, it does a grand job, so I'm going to order with this unit again but ask for large. Many thanks for this.

Much better than my previous pair (medium sized) which were difficult to put on in the pool, so worth paying the extra ( and waiting for them to be shipped from the USA)

Get smaller for better fit as they are not fitted. Good though as they cover all my fingers. Great resistance for me work out💪🏊

Gives you an amazing water workout when swimming, be warned though, my shoulders felt like they were going to pop out the first couple of times I used it. More a comment on my level of fitness than anything else

It is a good glove for swim workouts less so for aerobics. The issue is the velcro keeps opening, more so on the right glove but it does do it on both gloves during the course of my training session and hence have to stop to refasten the velcro. The one thing I did like was the wider web on the fingers. I tried a different brand - velcro was excellent - better suited to water aerobics than swimming

Yes, it made my forearms and upper arm work harder, but it also made the abs engage more to keep me in place.

These swim gloves are very well made and function exactly as they should

Speedo ist (neben Cressi) eine der wenigen Marken im Bereich Schwimmsport, die man bedenkenlos kaufen kann.Die Handschuhe sind sehr schön: angenehm zu tragen, robust, und (dank des Klettverschlusses am Handgelenk) einfach anzuziehen. Gerade in der letzten Hinsicht habe ich schon ganz anderes erlebt (Arena, ich schaue dich an).Ich trage die Handschuhe immer, wenn ich im Meer schwimme (perfekt dazu passen übrigens die Cressi Agua Short-Flossen). Letztens habe ich es einmal nicht gemacht: ein wirklich seltsames Gefühl. Also Vorsicht, die Handschuhe können süchtig machen! Aber ich, ich bin ihnen verfallen, und daher eine eindeutige Kaufempfehlung von mir.
