Course Requirement
I needed it for my masters program. I really liked Cataloging, so, I am keeping this one as reference.

Very good reference for librarians who classify and catalogue different documents
This is very comprehensive works for classification and catalogue of documents, including intenet resources. However, one new concept--FRBR and its recently research had hardly reviewed, maybe the author has not enough materials, though this new concept and model had been suggested for eight years. The othor regret is about the classification, the work reviewed detailedly about DDC,LCC,but hardly reviewed about the other classifications, which use languages other than English.I think the researcher in the apoch of Internet should have a global perspective, not just limited in the only one country,or only one language world(eg.English).I hope the next edition can be improved in these respects.

Waste of Money
I wanted to use this book as a reference source for cataloging. The text is too small, and the author used too many complex words. The examples didn’t really describe each step of the cataloging process. The book is mainly cataloging theory in a bad way.

In Depth and probably comprehensive
This was a very in-depth book, I would think targeted to a Library Science major in college. It covered many different kinds of classifications, while I was interested only in Dewey, so it was not as useful to me.

Intro to Cataloging and Classification
Required book for grad class. I would not have bought the book if it wasn't required for the course because cataloging and classification is automatically provided to the library from Marc records and other resources.
