Great trigger speed
This camera has taken thousands of pictures in the past few months and they are all clear and daytime photos are very bright and crisp. It took a few attempts to get it lined up just right (too high then too low) to catch the entire food plot. Great trigger speed, I have it set for three pictures per activation and I get three good pictures. I am very pleased with this camera.

Smart Start is user friendly
Smart Start is user friendly, but a 3-shot burst doesn't interest me or provide any advantage for me. Programming options under Custom Start are confusing and set up difficult, at least for me. Pressing directional buttons either sent me all over the map or no where. In my confusion I thought I set up motion detect which would begin the capturing sequence with picture taken after a 10-second time lapse. What I got was 7,650 photos over a two day period - one photo every 10 seconds with no motion detect affect. I was finally able set up just motion detect and the results are more reasonable. Go on-line to find a step by step users' manual, you want find one in the package. It'll save you time, money, frustration, and battery time especially if you use Custom Start. With user-friendly technology what it is today and with user-friendly devices in demand today this product still has some way to go to be "user-friendly." I think 3 stars is being generous from my experience.

I've been using a Moultrie M-880i Gen 2 "invisible" flash camera intensively for a couple of weeks now. I really like this camera and consider it pretty much the perfect game camera. It is easy to use. You can use the "quick start" setting or customize the settings. It takes excellent photos. The motion detector and IR flash have good ranges. The design of the case makes it very durable and weather resistant. Battery life is excellent. The "invisible" IR LED flash is indeed invisible and does not spook deer at all, but the flash is not as bright or have as long of range. I have been using an otherwise identical M-880 "low glow" IR camera at the same time and it does have a brighter, longer distance flash but does seem to spook the deer at night - even though the LEDs are very dim and subtle. The "invisible" flash camera takes adequate night pictures and is best to use in sensitive areas where you want to ensure it won't spook deer at all. I use the "3 triggered" picture mode to make sure I get enough good photos. The Time Lapse + Motion Detect mode allows you to catch animals at peak times that may not trigger the motion detector for whatever reason. Don't worry, the camera saves thousands of pictures on even a small SD card. I use very inexpensive 2GB SD cards. The camera can use larger SD cards but it isn't necessary and the instructions recommend smaller memory cards for faster speed.I find programming the camera to be very easy. I don't understand the comments about it being hard to program. The directions are good and clear.I don't know how using the camera could be any easier considering the features. Use the "quick start" setting if you find it difficult to program. The Moultrie M-880i Gen 2 is the perfect game camera if you don't mind night pictures being slightly dim. I wish the flash was slightly brighter but there is a trade off. Animals will never know the Moultrie M-880i Gen 2 trail camera is there.

Camera appears to function as advertised. However, when the images are downloaded to my IPAD2, the photos are cropped into skinny landscape (50% of the image is lost). I called Moultrie customer service today and they stated the cropping to landscape of images on the IPAD is a known problem and there is no fix at this time. At least customer service answered quickly and the representative was honest. However, the company should be alerting customers in their literature and on product packaging that the camera is not compatible with IPAD. If you have a computer with SD card reader you can take into the field with you, then this may not be a issue. If IPAD is your method of downloading images, do not buy this camera.

Literally thousands of pictures....
For starters, the camera takes AWESOME pictures! But... only if you like 14,000 pictures of the same tree branch. Tried the camera over the course of several nights and the camera continues to take pictures regardless of motion or heat change. It was taking pictures every 20 seconds or so. Tried changing setting using the instruction manual, no change. Looked at the company website and they talk about 'false triggers', followed the advise, set in room with no motion and see if it still takes pictures. Still clicked away. Called the company and got very poor customer service, she kept telling me it was in the settings even though the website said to send back to company for this problem. ZERO help from customer service. Returned the camera. Disappointed because I had high hopes for this after seeing other reviews and pictures from the camera.

Very nice.
I've owned 4 different brands of camera. I have to say the Moultries are the better and the invisible flash cameras are the best. The camo pattern isn't pretty but it does blend with a tree very well. In fact better than the pretty ones. I've been hunting and using game cameras for many years and this is a good one. That's why I bought more.

Camera worked great the first year.
Camera stopped working the second year. Tried to get warranty for it no go. Lesson learned.

Great way to see what is going on outside in the middle of the night disturbing the pets inside.
Works great in the rain and at night used it to see what was causing the trouble outside at night, turned out to be a Possum so I took measures to secure trash better and put things it likes to eat towards the back easement drawing him away from the house. Camera confirms he is no longer coming near the house. As of late he has moved on.
