Conntek 10110-096EX 7-Way Inline Trailer Extension Cord (8 Feet)

Heavy duty construction, flexible, snug connection on either end. I needed the double-end extension for a hitch mounted cargo box. The box only had a 4-way connection for lights; but, did not come with back-up lights (Stowawy2 MAX swing cargo box). The cargo box blocked my SUV back-up lights and I wanted to add something to ensure I had clearance. I ordered the Blazer C8020 Back-up Light and Pollak 12-711U right angle mounting bracket for 7-way trailer connector. Picked up some nuts/bolts and heavy duty zip ties from Lowes and it took me about 10 minutes to extend my connection to the cargo box. Everything works and I now have rear visibility at night.

This cable is sturdy and well made and does what it is made for. The only down side is $60+ seems a bit steep for what it is.

The mail end (plug) of this cord did not fully seat in the receptacle (truck) due to binding of the plug in the receptacle: the flange on the receptacle door could not engage the plug to assist in keeping it in place, the right turn signal and right brake light did not work (probably because the plug was not seated in the receptacle), and the trailer brakes worked intermittently (again probably because the plug was not seated in the receptacle). 1600 miles in to a 2500 mile trip, I had to remove my tail gate so that my trailer cord would reach the receptacle. With the extension cord out of the circuit I had no other problems.

Female end is hard to make stay connected The stopping Notch on the flip top is about 1/8 of an inch too long so that lets male end from trailer not make good contact I used zip ties to make the connection stay connected I paid a top price for the one I got Also I was offered a much lower price a week later from eBay Just saying.

So easy to install and use. Drove thousands of miles & no problems. The cost was much better then any RV or camping store.

Works great no negatives

This extension cord was exactly what I needed. I have a goose neck trailer plug in the back of my pick up and I had a bumper pull trailer. This extension cord worked perfectly to go under the tail gate and hook on to the trailer. The cord it's self is heavy duty and good quality. The male end is weather tight and the female end has a nice cap and mounting holes to make the cord a permanent fixture if needed. Would buy again.
