It reminds me of when I was a kid way too long ago. Radio Flyer has been around a long time. I really like that. It has all the Radio Flyer quality that I was used to when I was a kid. Very sturdy and well built. Good instructions on how to assemble. It took me about 30 minutes to assemble only because I could not find my hammer. This is what took the most time. If I had all the tools available, it should have only taken 10 or 15 minutes at the most. This tricycle has a rod in the back which allows you to keep your child going the right direction. This rod is a great addition for a beginner tricycle. It can be removed when no longer needed. If you push the rod slowly and help your child to steer with his or her arms and hands then your child will quickly learn how to steer this great toy. Start out slow and don't do the steering yourself. Pull and push on your child's arms and hands to steer the tricycle. This way they more quickly learn what is required to steer. The only thing I did not like was that it was made in China. However, I did not ding the product for being made in China. The price was great for the quality of this product. I sure would like to see "Made in the USA" more. Kind of saddens you when the great toys of yesterday are no longer made in the good ole USA. My grandson is 2 and can barely reach the pedals at the bottom of their cycle. Unless the 18 month old is long legged, he won't be comfortable on it. **Q: My 2 year old is only 31", would she be able to reach the pedals on this bike?** A: My son was 2 and about 33" when I got this for him but his height is in the torso not the legs. He was able to reach with the seat all the way down but if he made a turn his foot on the pedal to the outside was a bit too short and he would lose his footing. It slowed him down a little bit but it really wasn't long before he out grew the small draw back. He still loved it. Now he is 3 and rides like a race car. **Q: Would this be too small for a 3 year old girl around 36"?** A: No, it's big enough my son is 2.5yrs old 39in and fits perfectly with a lot more room left for him to grow. **Q: Would this work on an asphalt track?
