Great Sound
I have been shopping for a bluetooth speaker for near 2 months so after reading the reviews for this one and from owning Klipsch speakers in the past I decided to give this one a go. I have had it for about a month now and it is awesome!!! The sound is absolutely amazing! Crisp highs, full midrange and more bass than you would expect from this small speaker. Very easy to use and the battery life is excellent. I average about 8 to 10 hours on constant play while I am in the office. I highly recommend giving this speaker a go, you wont be disappointed.*******UPDATE TO ORIGINAL REVIEW*********BUYER BEWARE*********When I first received this item everything was great, until about a week ago! For some reason my speaker stopped charging. I tried a different cable, different outlet, different charger, all to no avail. I took it to a repair facility close to my house and they told me they would look at it and contact me. About 2 days later I received a phone call from my repair facility and was told the charging port was broken away from the circuit board. He said it was poorly soldered to the board which caused it to break loose. They fixed it for me under warranty. When I picked it up he then told me this is a VERY COMMON PROBLEM with this speaker. I asked how many he had sen or repaired and I was told at least 20 over the last 6 months. Klipsch used to be very high quality audio product and thats all I used to buy, but this is the third issue I have had with Klipsch products over the last couple of years. Klipsch has lost all credibility with me and I will more than likely NEVER purchase anything from Klipsch again!

Slightly disappointing.
PROS: Compact design, OK bass sound for its size; decent battery life.CONS: The overall sound is not as refined as other speakers in the same price range and size. Initially dependable, but with some use the device started to drop the bluetooth connection, which is rather disappointing.Bottom Line: Too expensive for what it is. I purchased it at ( $199), and if making the purchase again, I would probably go with a different make for that price.

GREAT SOUND ... but alas same problem. There's a problem w/ this product.
Love the sound and portability of this product (I have been using the Bose portable sound dock. which is more powerful but about three times the size and weight).I bought the Klipsch gig in November from Amazon. When it arrived, It had same problem as posted here. Battery wouldn't recharge.i returned it and liked the sound so much i I got a replacement. It worked for about a month. Then the same problem. It stopped recharging. I think something is wrong with the port where the micro usb connects. They need to fix this problem. The port is in an awkward place, too, and obviously defective in that I had the same problem with two units. It's a shame too, because the sound for the size is awesome.

AMAZING SPEAKER!!!!!!!!
12/14 since I wrote the first review of the Klipsch Gig, I have had a few days with it. There was a Soundfreaq Sound Kick on sale at Target for 59.99, I read a great review about how it was better than the Bose Soundlink, so I went and bought it to compare to the Klipsch. Tried it out and the Bluetooth was much better than the Klipsch but the sound didn't come close. So, i still think the Klipsch is almost unbeatable in sound. BUT, I hate the design more and more. The stupid flip cover gets in the way and seems to hang when trying to flip it open or closed. It has the absolutely worse Bluetooth that I have ever used. Every time you turn it on you have to go into the Bluetooth settings to activate it. Other speakers as soon as you turn them on & start up your music player, after it has been paired and played once, then they're already connected. The Klipsch disconnects from Bluetooth even if you get out of its range. The JBL Micro stays connected and resumes playing when you get back in its range. I cant find a way to permanently turn off the speakerphone feature, you have to disable it on every call. Klipsch, you know how to make a great sounding speaker but you need to study and do your homework on design and also the other features which are also important.12/12 Last year I compared portable bt speakers under $60. The JBL micro came out clearly the winner. It had high quality sound and would not distort at the highest volume no matter what I played, and the Bluetooth range was great, it picked up through walls 30+ feet away. This year I decided I wanted something more powerful with better bass and a fuller sound but also with good clarity. I consider myself to have a discerning ear and a better than average ear for quality. I am a musician and I listen to lots of music. On my venture I listened to many higher end speakers at different retailers, the Bose Soundlink, the UE Boombox, the JBL Flip and the Jawbone Jambox. I own a $5,000.00 Klipsch surround sound with Onkyo receiver, Bose cannot get close to it. I was sure if Klipsch would make a portable speaker it would be hard to beat. I tried 4 different speakers this year, the DKnight Magicbox, the Koomus Ursus Wave, and am waiting for the Soundbot SB 571. In the meantime I read reviews on the Klipsch GIG and watched reviews on Youtube and decided to give it a try. WOW!!! This speaker is unrivaled in my opinion for a portable bt speaker. Many, they say has awesome bass, one with over 1500 great reviews, so I ordered it. It came in a couple days and with great anticipation I synched it, put on my "Best Test Song" "The Power of Love" by Celine Dion, and again, A BIG LET DOWN! Totally disappointed.I would say that every company in the process of mass manufacturing will produce some duds, thankfully, I guess I got a good one. With the HUGE sound this thing produces, I would put it up against anything in its price range and probably some priced much higher. It has huge sound, great bass, clear separation of instruments, average highs great mids and WILL NOT distort. The volume isn't like a large system with a self contained subwoofer but it was a big step up from the Jawbone mini & similar speakers. Its bluetooth picks up decently 30 feet away. I haven't had a chance to test its battery life and it didn't come fully charged as I heard it would. I found it a little complicated to pair and the instructions I found to be a little vague. I had to go online to get pairing instructions on a YOUTUBE video. I also don't especially care for its design, so for that and the unuserfriendliness of it, I gave it a 4. But a speaker is for listening, and if I was only rating that, then I would definitely, without question, unequivocally, have to give it a GREAT BIG 5!

THE GOOD: The Klipsch Gig is a well-designed
THE GOOD:The Klipsch Gig is a well-designed, compact Bluetooth speaker with strong bass and good battery life (12 hours) for me about 9 hours with medium volume. It has a built-in speakerphone and offers AptX and NFC support for devices that include those features. It also allows music control with double/triple push on the circular button. They perfected this! just the enough lag and time to give you the chance to decide if you want to do next or previous tracks.THE BAD:While the bass is strong, the sound could be more detailed. It's somewhat pricey.THE BOTTOM LINE:While it doesn't beat the sound of some competing speakers in its $200 price class, the Klipsch Gig gets a lot of things right, offering a strong design and feature set along with comparatively deep bass for a speaker its size.

Very dissapointed
The Klipsch GiG portable speaker arrived fully charged and had amazing sound quality. The unit failed to recharge after the initial charge wore off. It appeared that the connection port was flimsy and very small guage for this type of speaker. I returned the unit and opted for a different brand.
