Also hang the rope up in the middle, do not coil it up and tie it. Start slow and work on technique and speed and proficiency will come, never thought I’d be jumping rope-love it! Excellent quality leather and great craftsmanship. The handles are very comfortable and the rope is easy to adjust. As stated in other reviews this rope is meant for medium speed workouts. If you are looking for a speed rope you may unnecessarily tire yourself out using this one. However, as recommended by the company if you oil the leather it will increase its weight; therefore, increasing the maximum speed of the rope. I had one small problem with the bottom cap breaking after I dropped the rope on the cement. The customer service team was more than helpful in replacing it though and will reply quickly if you have any other comments or concerns.
