This costume arrived and honestly i was so impressed! I’m 5’3” and 137lbs and bought a M and it fits great.. I probably could have done a small even but i wanted to make sure i had enough length for it to be long. If you’re concerned about length you might want to order up a size. The fabric is a lovely nice weight, not cheap and not thin. It does have some stretch and because I bought the M the sleeves are a bit long but I’m ok with that.

My daughter was Lady Capulet in Romeo and Juliet and this dress was perfect. She looked great and gave a stellar performance.

I followed advice from other reviews and ordered 2/3 sizes larger than I normally would have. I am 5'9", 195 lbs, and I normally wear a Large, sometimes XL (size 12 pants, size 36DDD bra). I ordered the XXX-Large, going up an extra size for length. I definitely could have ordered the XX-Large, probably the XL and it would have easily fit, but I'm glad I have the extra length. I would definitely go at least one size up, and at least 2 sizes up if you are taller. I also figured it was ok to err on the larger side since there is lacing on the front and back, so I could make it tighter if need be. Well, the lacing is in such a weird position it won't really work. Also, instead of the 6 loops on each side, as pictured, there are 2 loops on each side. The bottom of the front laces goes to mid-boob. The lacing in back is right around my shoulder blades. I tried to pull the dress down so these would be closer to where they should be (my waist???) but it wouldn't stay. I then tried to make it look not totally weird, but it just does. I've decided to remove the loops for the lacing and move them to where they should be. This will be easy for me, but I know not everyone will have that options - so larger sizes beware. Additionally, I've decided to find something with which to replace the lacing itself. It comes with a black cord, similar to the shoelace on a men's dress shoe. It's fine, and the visual effect is there, but I just think for a couple of dollars it can look a whole lot better. I'll try to remember to add pictures once I've made the changes. Length-wise, it hits right at the top of my foot - honestly, it couldn't be more perfect. It's just long enough without dragging on the ground - which normally wouldn't bother me, but I'm wearing it to a Renaissance Festival and don't want to be tripping over it or intentionally getting it all muddy. Overall, the quality is what I expected for what I paid. The material is nice and thick which will be nice since we are going to a Ren Fest in the fall and it might be pretty chilly.

Honestly, for the price, it’s kind of amazing. You get the look, the comfort, and the drama without spending a fortune. If you’re into vintage flair with a practical twist, this dress nails it.

Ordered XXL for my 5’3” 12 year old daughter because bigger would be better than smaller and to my surprise it fit her perfectly. She normally wears a women’s Large. The dress material is a nice velour compared to other dresses I’ve seen and has a lot of stretch to it. If she grows another size up it would still fit but be tighter and shorter. The worst part is that one of the lines in the front was sewn crooked so the dress looks crooked on her. The dress goes to the ground but could be a little longer by an inch or two of you wanted to wear a heel. The sleeves do not go all the way to the ground like in the picture either , they stop at about the knees. The lines on the front of the dress are not shiny like in the picture, they are a dull yellow and the strings to tie the front and back look like heavy dull colored shoestrings. This dress has so much potential. It could be so much better if the manufacturer made some simple changes. Despite it being crooked we are keeping it because we are out of time for a costume change and because she’s 12 and doesn’t mind.

The dress is pretty, it isn’t to be worn in temps above 70. It was almost 73 and it was a little warm but it isn’t made for cold weather either. The only complaint was that my corset holes were uneven at the top so my dress looked lopsided at times. But other than that it’s a very nice dress and wasn’t to light or to heavy and was a hit at the festival.

It looks so rich and feels wonderful. It does run small, though. I'm a size medium and ordered an XL just to be on the safe side. I'm glad I did because it just fits.

So, I bought this dress (in size Small) for a costume party... It's absolutely gorgeous and a GREAT price!! I checked out all the reviews and looked at all the pics other people posted and I was totally sold. Let's start with the positives. It's VERY comfy. It's super long (which I love). It's absolutely FREAKING adorable!! It's got a good weight, which I actually prefer. It arrived in great timing which I'm thankful for. The negative... There is only ONE issue I have with this dress... If you have the chest of a 14 year old boy... It's gonna need to be fixed at the top. HAHA! Oi. I have a really small chest so it gaped A LOT (as seen in the pic). The second pic is just pinned but once I actually sew it, it'll look exactly like that and it'll be perfect but it's definitely gonna need some alterations if you have a smaller chest. Anyways... I LOVE this dress and I don't regret buying it. I DEFINITELY recommend the dress to anyone who wants a Renaissance style dress for a good price!!

It was a very little bit too small and wouldn't tolerate constant wear but it's a costume, only likely to be worn once a year or less.
