I've been making candles for years, always using wax left over from used candles. The results were a hodge podge of colors and scents, not very attractive or pleasing. Using clean, unscented, creamy white soy wax is such a joy to use. I don't care for chemical scents so often used in candle making these days. I add a few drops of essential oils to my soy wax. The result is a lightly scented, smoke less, long lasting candle. The wax comes as 1/2" to 1" unscented flakes which are easy to use, quick to melt. I was thrilled with the wick holders that came in this kit. Makes for getting a straight wick so much easier. The prewaxed wicks are a nice convenience as well. All told, this is a nice starter kit for beginning candle makers.

So I've used this wax a few months back when I created my very first set of crystal candles for my business, Mama Junelle's (hello again!), but I decided to take it up a few notches - got a larger amount for what I needed - and once again, this wax did NOT disappoint!! Myyyy goodness! It's so easy to work with. The wicks stay lit and burn clean. The wax melts slowly and evenly. But most importantly, my customers loveeee my upgraded candles! 😍 Can't thank you guys enough for inspiring creativity. My baby girls also love to help me make candles as well, so this is fun for my whole house.

This was my first time making candles, and I've done about 10, 14oz jars since buying. The wicks burn perfectly and the wax holds and throws scent very well. The flakes are very easy to melt and take about 10 minutes to get to temperature (185F). I haven't had any issues with holes or uneven tops- I found that slow pouring and heating your candle jar to 90F helps with that as well.

I bought this as an introduction to candle making. The wax is excellent and easy to work with. The wicks are a little flimsy and take a little learning before mastering how to place them in hot wax, but after a few rounds it gets easy (hint: wait for the wax to solidify a little). The metal base on the wicks is top notch and very user friendly. The metal tool things for holding the wicks are useless, you'd be better off using a fork arched on the stove edge.

Love this wax. Matches my normal 464 wax I purchase normally that costs more than this product did. Burn is perfect. Holds scent as expected. Will purchase again.

I do recommend this kit. The wicks are nice and long. You do need to hot glue them into the glass container!! then the wax melted fine. The only issue to note is the big bag of wax chips becomes very messy to try to "pour" into the double boiler /cup. It's a big plastic bag and various size wax pieces to get in to melt. There's no scent, so a couple drops of essential oil make for a very light and bright gift :)
