Great Yoga Towel for Hot Yoga or if your hands and feet get sweaty.
I have been practicing yoga on and off for over 10 years. Even while doing regular temperature yoga I would sweat A LOT from my hands and feet; the drawback of having palmer and plantar hyperhydrosis (don't know what that is? look it up and thank your lucky stars you don't suffer from it). I used a hand towel and a larger bath towel so that I wouldn't slip and slide all over the yoga mat. I just started doing hot yoga and the towel thing was NOT working. It was constantly bunching up and was difficult to keep in place. I then searched on the web and read many reviews on the various yoga towels out there. I think this must be a relatively new thing because 10+ years ago I didn't know any such thing existed. I wanted a product that was of excellent quality, did what it said it would do, and came in at a price point between $20 and $40. A bonus item for me was color choices. I used this towel for the first time for a hot yoga class that was at 105 degrees. I did have to spray the towel initially in order to get my hands and feet not to slip initially, but after getting started the sweat was definitely enough to keep the towel damp enough for no slipping to occur. There was a tiny bit of bunching of the towel but I don't think you can ever really get away from that. It was definitely a night and day difference over using my standard towels. I have just purchased a second towel so that I can wash one and use one. I am completely satisfied with my purchase and with a price point between $18 and $20 for a towel that covered my standard mat on all sides with a 1-2 inch extra, it has surpassed all my expectations. The bonus is that this towel comes in a lot of wonderful solid colors. I didn't want any designs to distract from my practice.

Love it. Would purchase another one
Works great. Keeps me from slipping and soaks up sweat really well. It had some fuzzies the first couple of times using it but after a few washes it’s so much better.

Didn't get exactly what I want, but appreciate the effort.
I purchased this so that I wouldn't have to pay $50 for a yogitoes. This Gosweat Hot Yoga Towel has a surface that is woven to be a little more moleskin or suede-like. It's great for slow movements and still poses. It fits my Manduka 71" mat just right. However, the kind of hot yoga I do is a bit more active on the mat, and the towel does not stick to the mat well for more intricate flows that may be switching poses from back to front, or one-breath-one-movement flows. Great for grip though, but I found the towel scrunching up with my feet when I twist through the diff warriors (for example). I emailed Shandali, and they were very nice and courteous and emailed me back saying that they would send me a set of their "sticky fingers" mat to try. I did. The Sticky Fingers have rubberized bottom side that definitely help the towel stick to the mat much more during my practice. The upper surface is not as grippy as the Gosweat though. So while I do wish I had something that had the upper of the Gosweat and the bottom of the Sticky Fingers, I praise Shandali for their customer service. While I didn't get exactly what I wanted, they went above and beyond for me to try their product, and I appreciate that, esp at this price point. I'm not the only yogi out there, and my opinion is not perfect so maybe these will be exactly what you're looking for.

Quality
The cloth is soft but had some fuzzies at first due to it maybe being new.

Good Buy
All the positive reviews here on Amazon and on external sites (it seems Shandali gave away a lot of these to bloggers) made me a little skeptical about this towel. It seems they made a huge effort to have a good reputation on the internet. While not a bad thing, it just made me a little suspicious. I ultimately went with this towel because of the price and the satisfaction warranty. It hangs off about a half inch over all around on my standard mat and does great soaking up the sweat during practice. It is 80% polyester 20% nylon and feels like a soft velvet. It is a little slippery when dry, so I would recommend giving it a quick spray with water before use. It does move around a little on the mat, but not so much that it is distracting. I think this would improve with better technique on my end. I haven't tried Yogitoes or any other brands with the silicone nubs that hold towels in place, so I can't compare, but I like that this towel can be machine washed AND dried and can double as a travel/camp towel.

and thought the "#1 Best Hot Yoga Towel
I do hot yoga regularly and wanted to get a new mat towel into the rotation. I was looking for a less expensive option to the Yogitoes Skidless mat towels I currently own, and thought the "#1 Best Hot Yoga Towel, Super Absorbent, 100% Microfiber, Anti-Slip, SUEDE, Best Bikram / HOT Yoga Towel..." at $22 sounded ideal. It's less than half the price, and I liked it right away out of the box. It's definitely soft, I like how it feels against my skin, and it's quite large - overhangs my yoga mat by at least an inch on all sides, which is fine. I washed it right away and put it into practice the next day. The first time I used it, I didn't wet it. I never wet my Yogitoes towels, and even though this towel doesn't have anything to "grip" against your mat, the suede texture felt like it would provide some level of non-slip. And I suppose it does... if you're comparing it to a regular house towel or beach towel. My feet and hands don't slip at all on this product, but this product doesn't stay in place on the mat nearly as well as compared to the Yogities. Whether I'm hopping forward, sliding through, or turning my feet for placement - the towel moved or bunched EACH time. Every time we returned to downward dog, I found myself using the opportunity to smooth it back into place, and once I had to stop during class to reposition it and smooth it because it was driving me nuts. Near the end of class, by the time my sweat and general studio humidity had put moisture into the towel, it wasn't sliding as much. But it was still a huge disappointment. The next time I used it, I wet it using the studio spray bottle. It definitely helped, but it still moved or bunched pretty easily, so I thought maybe I hadn't wet it enough. So the last time I used it, I poured water from my bottle onto the mat in several spots to make sure it was dampened all the way through in several areas. This definitely helped - but even damp, it still bunches under my feet if I'm "turning" my feet or hands for various poses, or twisting against it. It's not terrible, and it hasn't required stopping class to reposition like it did that first day. Occasional bunching is easy enough to smooth out during a downward dog... but at the end of the day, this is no where NEAR the "best" I was expecting based on the item description and the few reviews I read. I will say, it does a great job of soaking up sweat! So perhaps if you have an advanced practice (where you're pretty much floating lightly in and out of poses), and you're looking for something that will actually draw moisture away from you, then I think this would work well. But if you're not advanced and you don't want to be distracted by your mat towel during practice, spend the extra money and get the Yogitoes or another mat with the rubber/silicone grippers that will actually grip against your mat during poses to help keep it in place.

Stays in Place with No Slip!
This is the best yoga towel I am tried so far! This is my third brand of towel to try. I typically practice vinyasa flow in a heated room and where we are moving quite vigorously throughout the class. I have had a difficult time finding a towel that stays relatively in place while I practice my flow type classes. If I have to adjust the towel, it becomes very distracting. I used this towel doing a ladder flow the other day and I only had to adjust it slightly on the sides during the entire 75 minute class. And the adjustments were very minimal, like when I was in down dog pulling the corner over. Another thing is that this towel does not have a scent to it which is amazing. I have another brand of towel at home that gradually starts to smell a little chemically the wetter it gets. No scent here! The towel is very thin. Be mindful that if you want a thicker towel, this one is not for you. It is very thin, but absorbs well - trust me I was sweating A LOT. I generally like a thinner towel because it does not get caught on my foot when moving between poses. I also love the colors these towels come in. I ordered the teal and pink and I am very happy with both colors as they are what is advertised. The texture is suede-like, soft and like I said earlier absorbed the sweat well. I did not slip once even when the towel was dry. Overall, the Shandali Gosweat Hot Yoga Towel is excellent quality and I will be ordering more colors!

Perfect Hot Yoga towel stays put and stays dry
This Shandali towel is THE towel to purchase if you are serious about your yoga practice. After practicing hot yoga for a year with a hand-me-down mat and a beach towel, I purchased this Shandali towel along with a Manduka PROlite yoga mat for myself for Christmas. A friend also gave me a different hot yoga towel that was said to be top rated. After trying both towels with my new mat and making some comparisons, I can HIGHLY recommend this Shandali towel. This towel stays put even when I transition between poses where my foot may slide all the way from the back to the font of the mat or vice versa (e.g., from downward facing dog to pigeon). I have also noticed that even when I am in a long class and really dripping with sweat, this towel feels dry. It has really been amazing to me. Perhaps this towel works so well because of my new mat, but I have noticed a lot of movement, moisture, and bulk in my other towel, so I think the Shandali towel is really the key. This towel is very lightweight and super thin; when folded, it hardly takes up any space in my gym bag. I prefer the gray color because it is not visually distracting, and the size is perfect for my 71" mat (medium size). Even after washing, the towel fits perfectly from front to back of the mat, and it provides about an inch of overhang on both the left and right sides. Finally, the price of this towel is very low compared to other high-quality towels I researched. After washing, I let this towel air dry because I want to prolong the life of the towel, and I have noticed that it dries very quickly. Today, I plan on purchasing a second Shandali towel so I can always have a fresh one on hand when I go to class. I hope you enjoy this towel as much as I do, and I think you will find that it enhances your practice by increasing your stability in friction-sensitive positions, such as downward facing dog (my hands NEVER slip with this towel), and by reducing the amount of distractions that can arise from a poor-quality towel.

Does not slip
I've been using this towel for almost a year in my hot yoga classes and the quality is still great, the size is perfect and it doesn't slip. I bought one for my partner and he only had to dampen it a little the first time and now it works great.
