Is this a tiny kibble, or larger size?

It's pretty large for cat kibble. I don't think a kitten could eat it, but none of my adult cats seemed to have any trouble with it. They very greatly in size, from 7 pounds to 16+ pounds with regular to large mouths. They all ate it avidly for a couple of years with results from not much difference to very good tartar control depending on the cat. Recently, however, they all got tired of it at the same time and I can't get anyone to finish off the bag. Hope this helps.

my old cat has bad teeth is this kibble soft? she eats rc intense hairball now but it probably hurts her teeth

This kibble is crunchy, not soft enough for a kitty with bad teeth. It's also larger than the usual cat kibble. Almost the size of a marble. It's larger so cats who eat too fast and then upchuck their food have to take a little extra time to chew their food. My cat also likes Stella and Chewy freeze dried salmon and chicken. It's dried chunks that you add water to (or not.....my cat eats it dry, then drinks water). If you add water it is soft. Of course, there's always canned cat food, the pate kind is soft with no chunks in it.

We use Hills prescription t/d for our cats teeth now. Does anyone know if this food is similar?

we lost a pet to Hills cat food in 2007, see link https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2007_pet_food_recalls

What (besides the price) is the difference between this and Royal Canin Dental?

I am not certain about difference in ingredients, but Royal Canin Dental is prescription only. I have been using the Oral Care for a few years with great results for a rescue who has stomatitis and tends to build up tartar. Really has helped!
