Really Helps with Bad Breath and Dental Health—My Cats Love It!
I got this food because I wanted to be more mindful of my cats’ dental health, and I’m so glad I gave it a try. It actually helps reduce plaque and freshens their breath—which I noticed after just a little while of using it! Their teeth look cleaner, and I no longer get that strong “cat breath” smell when they come in for cuddles. The kibble pieces are a bit larger than regular cat food, which I think helps them chew more and keeps them fuller a little longer. I also like that this brand uses quality ingredients, and my cats genuinely seem to enjoy it. They’ve taken to it right away, especially compared to other dental-specific foods we’ve tried. I do wish it was a little more budget-friendly—I’d give it to them exclusively if I could—but for now I alternate it with other foods. Even with switching it up, I’ve still seen a difference in their dental health. If you’re looking for something that actually supports your cat’s teeth and that they’ll actually eat, I highly recommend giving this a shot!

My kitty couldn’t have his teeth cleaned
My cat is not able to have his teeth cleaned because his liver counts were off a little bit. He is 13, and he absolutely adores this food. His breath is already so much better after feeding it for about five days. I had been feeding only canned food, which I feel is healthier for a cat than dry food, because they get most of their moisture from the food they eat. He seems to be drinking quite a bit of water, so I feel OK about feeding this to him currently. I may also intersperse with some canned food meals. It’s really bad when your cat‘s teeth collect tartar like my cat does. My previous cat baby collected no tartar on his teeth, except a little tiny bit toward the gumline. He never had to have his teeth cleaned. But my current cat baby collects tartar like crazy! I am so thankful for this food because now I feel that his teeth and gums are going to be much healthier. Also, I can let him sleep next to me now, without smelling his terrible breath 🫢 Update December 10, 2023 Success!! I just checked my cats teeth, which he hates and generally will not let me do, I had to put on Medi gloves to do it, but I looked at his molars, and I do not see a trace of accumulated tartar. I am over the moon happy because not only is it saving me about $700 in teeth cleaning, yes, that is what my cat vet charges, and the Discount vet charges about $400 plus the blood work, but I do not have to have my cat anesthetized, which he probably couldn’t do anyway because of his liver counts. This food is really the answer to fresh smelling breath for my cat. When My cat, Pasha, licks my hand, I smell absolutely no bad smells in his saliva, and when he lies next to me in bed at night, there is no bad breath smell. I would say it has taken about six months for his teeth to completely clean up. I think I started feeding him this food in about July 2023. I still feed him premium, canned cat food morning and evening, but he likes to munch on this dry food in between so it cleans the canned cat food from his teeth, as well as the accumulated tartar. I can tell that he feels better too. I believe his stinky mouth was really bothering him. I still don’t know why one of my vets did not recommend this food, especially for a cat who couldn’t be anesthetized to have his teeth cleaned. I may have to mention that at the next vet visit.

Cat prefers this over regular hills science
My cat doesn’t have any dental issues but she only eats wet food during the day so I wanted something to clean her teeth. She occasionally snacks on the regular hills science diet at night so I mixed some of this in & she actually picks it out of the bowl specifically & leaves her regular food behind. I’m actually surprised.

It’s SUPPOSED to be big—cleans teeth well!
The point of this food is to clean cats’ teeth by forcing them to have to break down the big kibble with their back teeth to get them clean. This is definitely NOT for cats with sensitive teeth. The kibble is large and crunchy because that’s how it works to clean teeth! And it really does seem to work. I feed my cats Nulo kibble and canned food which is high quality, species-appropriate, very good quality food, but the kibble is tiny, so it does not benefit their teeth. I purchased a small bag of this food and use it as treats. I’ve been giving my kitties about 4-5 pieces each, once a day at treat time, and I’m shocked that I already see a difference. They had already been getting the same number of Greenies treats and these seem to work much better. My cats are both less than a year old, but tartar has already started, and with that I was seeing some redness starting around the gumline by the tartar. Due to several illnesses when we got them, we had to prioritize their medicine over training them for teeth cleaning, so they are both averse to having their teeth brushed. I still plan to slowly work on that with them, but this kibble really does seem to make a big difference, even when used very sparingly! I don’t think anything can really remove tartar, but it’s only been a little over a week, and the redness on their gums is already gone and it really does look like they have less tartar, though I really am not sure if that’s actually possible! I also have noticed no tummy or litterbox issues, but as I’m giving them only a few pieces a day, I don’t feel I can really judge that for those planning to use this as meals. They really like the flavor apparently because they gobble it up at treat time. Very encouraging results so far!

My cats like this!
Since Frisky no longer makes those great little round balls of Dental Diet cat food, I had to go looking for something else. Science Diet seemed to be the only likley alternative. My cats liked the different size and texture of the round balls but in their infinite wisdom Frisky (the nitwits) decided there wasn't a market for the product any longer. Fat lot they know. Our three cats don't love this "dental diet cat food" as much at the round balls but they do eat it along with their other food. I buy only grain free Orijen and another dry cat food intended for indoor cats. Our cats enjoy the variety and it does seem to work. The Science Diet has an almost greasy coating on the surface but this seems to draw our cats to it. The size and shape forces them to chew it and this is good for their teeth. We have one cat that loves to swallow his cat food without chewing. How he does it when it's dry, I don't know! I believe that the larger size alone means healthier teeth and gums for our cats. Two of our cats (9 yrs old) are of a breed that is known to suffer from gum diease. They have healthy gums. I believe that a dental diet cat food helps to prevent gum disease....and the larger size provides variety to their diet that they enjoy. Not everything a cat eats has to be 100% certified good for them. Can you imagine if we always ate only healthy food! Boring! If you provide a good quality dry cat food, plenty of water (we use a fountain), routine exercise (play with them!) and a canned cat food as a treat now and then....you will have healthy and happy cats.

yum yum
Our vet recommended this and we have been feeding it to our cat for years. He loves it. Then again, he does lick his own butt and eats gophers and small bits of plastic he finds on the floor. I guess his teeth are good, the vet has never tried tried to push us to get his teeth cleaned, which used to be a thing they always did. His breath is still quite offensive at times but I guess that is just part of being a cat.

Great Dental Diet For Kitties With “poor oral hygiene.”
Hill’s Science Diet Adult Oral Care cat food is worth every cent paid! My Vet suggested this cat food for my 8 year old “mini panther” after the removal of 3 teeth due to decay. Mr. Picky Panther.oves this food; definitely a plus.

This food works miracles.
My cat has had gum issues from a young age due to allergies. I’ve been feeding her Hill’s Science Diet Sensitive Stomach & Skin dry food. She’s now 5 years old and had tartar buildup on her back teeth. The vet wanted $2,000 for a dental cleaning. I saw this food on Amazon and decided to give it a try. I didn’t expect it to remove the tartar, but I figured it wouldn’t do any harm either. At first, I was disappointed. My cat started vomiting after eating this food because the kibble pieces were much larger than what she was used to (she usually just swallows her regular food). So I gave it to her as a treat instead, without replacing her main food. Gradually, she learned to chew the bigger pieces. I started checking her teeth from time to time. After a few weeks, one of the back teeth was completely clean — no more tartar. On the second tooth the very tip had cleared. But today, when I checked again, both teeth were completely clean. Wow. It’s so rare when a product actually lives up to its advertisement. After almost 3 months, her teeth are totally free of tartar. I’ll definitely keep buying this food. Thank you to the company for creating such an amazing product that keeps pets’ teeth healthy and saves money on dental care!

Senior cat loves it
My cat loves it and it also helped significantly when he went through a stroke and his tongue was temporarily paralyzed. He was able to chew the larger kibbles and still loves it 3 years later

Lousy product
I bought it because normally cats love the taste of any Hill's product. My cats tried to eat it and couldn't. Even starving street dogs refused to eat it. I think it was stale, expired product that was lying in the Seller's store for many months. There is mot date of import or date of manufacture given anywhere on the packaging. I just lost Rs. 1447 on this.

Bom porém tem grãos grandes
Chegou rápido e bem embalado, o único ponto negativo é o tamanho dos grãos de ração, são bem grandes e não é todo gato que consegue comer
