I have had my Kindle Gen 3 for almost 10 years & love it. Recently traveled with it and managed to damage my screen, which would have been a total loss for a unit this old. However, the replacement screen was less expensive than a replacement Kindle, and it was delivered well ahead of expectations!After a quick tutorial on youtube.com, I was able to install the new screen in 30 minutes of careful work and now my Kindle is as good as new! If you have to pay someone to do it, $20US is the most the work is worth...I am very glad that this part is available for sale thru Amazon

I was able to restore my kindle keyboard to working order for a fraction of buying a replacement kindle keyboard which I couldn't even find. Newer kindle e-readers available lack speakers and other features like playing mp3 or reading text like the kindle keyboard had. Does require patience as the "motherboard" is attached by a dozen very tiny screws. Separating the plastic front from the back requires care and patience. having a small screwdriver kit will be required. ALSO, the screen is matte not glossy but REMEMBER to PEAL OFF the protective PLASTIC FILM before installing it!

Worked well. Replacement not too tricky, ifixit has a guide in how to replace the screen, goggle "ifixit kindle keyboard 3g", the link comes right up and it's pretty helpful. This is a glossy screen, not matte like the original but I'm kinda digging the enhanced contrast the glossy finish gives it.

Worked like a dream for my daughter’s Gen 3 Kindle with keyboard....she dropped it on the unprotected corner and made the lcd screen unreadable. The replacement was easy to install and arrived from China in a reasonable (but not quick) timeframe of 3 weeks. Now to get a hard shell case that protects all corners.

Restored my Kindle Keyboard. Only issue is the screen is gloss the original was a matte non glare style. I don't really care but I would have preffered a matte finish. Non the less it's an excellent product and now I can use my Kindle! Don't be afraid to repair your kindle, just check out the many videos on replacing the screen and take your time.
