Is the door suppose to not open at all with this because my door still opens a little ?

It isn't good for your door to still open a little. Your doorknob may be loose. If so, do whatever it takes to fix the doorknob. The angle of the device's post to the floor may be too steep. If so, I recommend you change its length and thereby change the angle to get the skid foot a little farther away from the door. The skid foot of the device may be sliding. If so, give it a surface that let's it bite better. A little piece of that woven no skid rubber cargo mat would probably prevent slide.

What material is the piece that fits under the door knob?

it is all made of high grade iron, just slip the fork like piece under door know.

My door has a handle not a doorknob can I put this underneath the square metal frame instead of putting it on a door knob

If your talking about the type of handle that is kind of like an ‘L’ shape…that’s what I have and I just put the ‘U’ shape of the SECURITYMAN right up under the handle and it works just the same!!
